With the majority of THQ’s former assets doled out on Wednesday, we’re now starting to see statements emerging from the companies who purchased games and studios at the bankruptcy auction. Ubisoft, who bought THQ Montreal and publishing rights for South Park: The Stick of Truth, have issued one such notification.

In it, South Park: The Stick of Truth is referred as being due in ‘calendar 2013,’ suggesting at least some delay from its proposed March release. True, March is in calendar 2013, but the language indicates that the game will have a new release window.

Ubisoft’s acquisition of THQ Montreal comes with the staff of that studio (though according to Polygon, that may not include former Assassin’s Creed creative director Patrice Desilets after all) and “a new, yet-to-be announced IP in development at the studio.” In fact, the studio has two games in the works: Desilet’s 1666 and another title code-named Underdog.

“This deal adds experienced developers to our internal creative teams at a key moment in the cycle of the video game industry,” says Ubisoft Montreal president Yannis Mallat.
