Apex Legends Broken Moon Is A New Map With Zip Rails

Apex Legends’ new map brings zip rails to Season 15 players

Who doesn’t love to zip?

Since its release, Apex Legends remains a popular and full game. The free-to-play battle royale FPS has had numerous new seasons, characters, and maps in the time since that first day, giving players a consistent stream of content to chew on. Now, developer Respawn Entertainment has revealed the latest map that’s coming to Apex Legends in Season 15 — Broken Moon.

The developer describes Broken Moon as “a terraforming project commissioned by the Cleo Recovery Council, as a result of the catastrophic meteor impact that occurred in 2708.” In the lore of Apex Legends, this moon became habitable in 2715 and subsequently became a new location to hold the Apex Games. Respawn says the new Apex Legends map is a similar size to World’s Edge. It then goes into detail about the impressive variety of locations players can explore.

Zipping in style

Without a doubt, the highlight of Broken Moon is the zip rails featured on the map. Respawn claims that using zip rails is a fast way to “effectively outrun the ring,” and that they offer convenient paths to travel between the various points of interest. Players will still be able to fire weapons and do everything they can do while using zip lines, but the rails will provide greater speed.

Respawn also detailed the map’s points of interest in the latest blog post and in a new video walkthrough. Some of them include Terraformer, a huge symmetrical structure placed “off-center” of the map, and The Divide, a location filled with clustered vertical houses and bridges. There’s also Cultivation, which bears a passing resemblance to the closed canyon map Blood Gulch from the Halo series. Cultivation is filled with circular greenhouses that should provide plenty of attacking routes for sneaky players.

Apex Legends is available to play via Steam, Origin, and the EA app.
