Resident Evil 4 Remake Special Demo Feature

Resident Evil 4 remake will get a ‘special demo’ soon

A small taste of chaos is slated to arrive soon.

Sony has continued to debut and preview future titles through its State of Play digital presentation. The most recent took place just yesterday, showing off its newly launched PSVR2 headset, Street Fighter VI, and updates on games like the Resident Evil 4 remake. Similar to the Resident Evil 2 1-Shot Demo, the Resident Evil 4 remake will see a ‘special demo’ arriving soon.

The presentation for the Resident Evil 4 remake provided a much more detailed look at Leon in action. And, the Las Plagas looks just as frightening as it did when the original game was released back in 2005. The vicious swinging of their tentacle limbs and teeth-filled flesh holes they call mouths still seem to rile up just the right amount of panic.

However, the addition of modern controls and a reimagining of the gameplay should make these situations a bit more manageable. Things like standing still and aiming are relics of the past now that you can freely move and shoot, keeping Leon on his feet and alert. In general, the gameplay looks a lot quicker, with enemies more fast approaching to accommodate the change in mobility.

Resident Evil 4 remake is getting a special demo, but we don’t know when

There isn’t a confirmed release date for the Resident Evil 4 special demo at this time. However, with the game releasing in less than a month on March 24, we can guess that it will arrive any day now. It might also similarly release like the Resident Evil 2 1-Shot Demo, offering up to 30 minutes to play and available to download for weeks during the game’s original launch.

You can also pre-order the game now on Steam with the standard version running $59.99 USD and the Deluxe Edition at $69.99. The Delux bundle includes a number of weapon charms, items, and character skins. If you’re worried about whether your rig can handle Leon’s majestically animated hair, then check out the PC hardware specifications here. They’re not as scary as you’d think.

The trailer also confirms that some story elements are changing in the game. However, many of the areas are still familiar. The Mercenaries mode is also making a comeback, though Capcom wasn’t ready to show it off.
