Ballad of the Sky Fish.

During the “Clues to the Sky” quest in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you have to do a lot of problem solving. Not only do you have to repair a broken slate, and then find the location of King Dorephan, but you then have to figure out a cryptic puzzle that doesn’t have an immediately obvious solution. Luckily finding the Land of the Sky Fish in Tears of the Kingdom is simpler than it first appears.

We’re not going very far to actually find this location. In fact, if you look up and to the east of Zora’s Domain, you may even be able to see the Sky Island we need to head to. Obviously, the Land of the Sky Fish is referring to one of the Sky Islands. But you might not have expected it to be in the shape of an actual fish. Its proper name is Floating Scales Island and there are a couple of ways to get up there. Check the map below for the location of Floating Scales Island.

Before we make our way to the Land of the Sky Fish there’s something you should do. Make sure you’ve unlocked the Upland Zorana Skyview Tower. Not only will this unlock the map for the region, but it’ll also give us a way to get to the Sky Island. All you need to do is use the Skyview Tower to launch yourself into the air and glide over to Floating Scales Island. It’s far away, but it should be doable with some stamina restoration food. It’ll help if you’ve put some points into upgrading Link’s maximum stamina too. You could also build a flying machine with the Autobuild ability to get up there fairly easily.

No matter which way you decide to get there, it should be a simple process. The Land of the Sky Fish is a fairly confusing riddle in Tears of the Kingdom at first. But once you know what it really means it isn’t so bad. Once this is done you’ll be one step closer to finally starting the Water Temple.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is now available for Nintendo Switch.
