These X & Y Characters and Pokemon Could Make Their Return in Pokémon Legends ZA

Who might we see again as we redevelop PokéParis?

With the announcement of Pokémon Legends ZA and the return of the Kalos region from X & Y- specifically Lumiose City – I got to wondering what else might be making a return. Here are some X & Y characters who could make a triumphant comeback in Pokémon Legends ZA.

X & Y Characters and Pokémon Legends Z-A- Who might we see again?

There are two most likely characters to appear again in Pokémon Legends Z-A given the game’s setting and name. Clemont, the Electric-type Gym Leader of Lumiose City, and the character the title is hinting at – Az, the ancient immortal king of Kalos who wanders the land. With how much the trailer focuses on the Prism Tower, it seems almost guaranteed Clemont will be involved. It is his gym inside that tower.

As for Az, his entire story revolves around how he ended a war three thousand years ago. This may be why Pokémon Legends ZA is set in modern-day Lumiose City and not in the past like Arceus. Az is all that Legends needed to represent Kalos.

I’m hopeful for the reappearance of Professor Sycamore. His lab is located in Lumiose City, and among the professor characters he is one of the most popular. We could also see Diantha, the champion of Kalos. Multiple of her appearances in X and Y were in Lumiose City. Plus, she lingers there at the endgame to trade with you. Alexa, the journalist who works for the Lumiose Press (an ironic sentence for me to type), also seems incredibly likely to return given how tied she is to the ongoings of the city. Maybe she’ll report on the urban redevelopment!

I think the funniest character to reappear would by far be Lysandre. We first met him in Lumiose City and he has a secret lab there. But given how the events of X and Y went, there are only two ways this could happen. The game would have to take place before X and Y or bring back the alternate reality version of him from Ultra Sun and Moon. The latter of which seems unlikely for an urban redevelopment game premise.

Of course, a lot of characters appear in Lumiose City at some point during X and Y. The rival characters could return, given they traveled all over. Xerosic, Emma, and Looker and his bureau could return if we’re lucky.
