If you’ve been watching out for signs of a Watch Dogs release date after Ubisoft’s decision to delay the game, then the company’s Q3 financial report should give you some idea of when to expect it. CEO Yves Guillemot writes that Watch Dogs is “scheduled for release in the first fiscal quarter.”
In the wacky world of business, that means somewhere between the beginning of April and end of June in 2014. Guillemot also says that Ubisoft has five “major titles” planned for release in fiscal 2014-2015, naming Watch Dogs, The Crew and Just Dance (hey, it’s a big seller.)
South Park: The Stick of Truth is due before that period, so he’s not referring to that game. It’s possible (but perhaps unlikely) that The Division will be ready in time. The smart money is probably on “more Assassin’s Creed.” Maybe a new Far Cry?
Anyway, no matter what games Ubisoft has lined up, they’ll be hoping for improved financial results. This latest report projects annual company losses of 65 million Euros ($89 million USD.)
