Will a mouse improve your DOTA 2? SteelSeries seem to think so with this new mouse.

The SteelSeries Rival: DOTA 2 Edition Gaming Mouse will be on show for the first time at the International 4 Dota 2 Championship in Seattle this weekend and attendees will be checking this out for the first time.

This new mouse is based on the Rival Optical Mouse, and as a it’s DOTA 2 themed, it comes with an exclusive in-game item, Hell’s Glare for Doom. SteelSeries’ CTO  Tino Soelberg commented:

“We believe that DOTA players deserve the best, so we set out to give fans a mouse with a design they would love without sacrificing the functionality they require. We extensively tested our DOTA 2 Edition of the Rival Optical Mouse with professional players from Natus Vincere, Invictus Gaming and Fnatic which has resulted in one of the most powerful mice we’ve ever built – and to make it even more special for the DOTA 2 community, we’ve added a unique in-game item.”

The mouse also comes with “exclusive DOTA 2 themed illumination modes ” which players can tweak.

The Hell’s Glare for Doom item is a Radiance-inspired sword and was “once divine weapon, now corrupted by the devouring darkness of its new master”. Sounds sinister enough.

The mouse has not been released yet but will be available for pre-order  for £59.99 once The International concludes. Will it make you a better DOTA 2 player? Probably not but it’s one for the fans.
