Transmission Games Closes

Australian developer Transmission Games has closed its doors today and gone into administration.Problems at the Australian developer were apparent earlier this month when IncGamers received a tip-off that the company was in financial difficulty and staff were being layed off with salaries being delayed. The studio has encountered numerous problems including afailure to find publishers for titles it developed. These included new titles Rotorhead, Janes F22 and Red Tails. The latter was thought to be a movie tie-in based on a WWII Tuskegee Airman, written by John Ridley with George Lucas. The developer also cited a royalty dispute over its Heroes Over Europe title as a factor in its demise. Transmission was also thought to have been working on a  new cricket title to be released in 2010 which was being backed by Codemasters. The company has now gone into voluntary administration with the remaining staff having been let go. Transmission Games was founded in 1996 under the name of IR Gurus and was best known for Heroes Over The Pacific and its cricket titles.
