Assassin’s Creed: Unity launched in such a state across all three platforms that Ubisoft has set up a special blog to provide patch updates. The second entry, written today, has details of what the next patch should contain.

I’m not sure how this fits in with the already-detailed Patch 1.2 for PC (still not released yet, to my knowledge) but it does give an idea of what Ubisoft is looking to try to fix.

The “next update” looks as though it will try to deal with the following glitches and problems, reported by players over the past couple of days:

  • Arno falling through the ground.
  • Game crashing when joining a co-op session.
  • Arno getting caught inside of hay carts.
  • Delay in reaching the main menu screen at game start.

Beyond that, Ubisoft say they are “already looking into many of the other issues you’ve told us about and we have more updates planned” for Assassin’s Creed: Unity. This second list includes:

  • Frame rate issues. (hooray!)
  • Graphical and collision issues.
  • Matchmaking co-op issues.
  • Helix Credits issues.

Those issues sound longer-term than the first set me, so I wouldn’t expect the next patch released to necessarily deal with them. They’ll probably be addressed in an update coming further down the road (unless sorting out the frame-rates on all platforms is somehow easy, which seems unlikely.)

IncGamers finally received some PC review code for the game yesterday; here are my port impressions.
