Aion Server Merges Announced, 1.9 Dated

NCsoft has revealed that, due to population levels, some Aion servers will be merged. The announcement came in the May community address, where game producer Chris “Kinslon” Hager explained the reasons behind the decision, namely the concerns of players who had difficulty forming groups or gathering enough players for end-game content. “After a score of meetings, it was decided that the best thing to do is to merge some of our servers so that we have fewer, fuller servers with characters (and players) that are balanced better in population across all levels and classes. The primary goal of merging the servers is to create an environment that gives you the best possible experience in Aion.” During the letter, Hager also put a firm date on the long-awaited patch 1.9. It’ll be on the test servers for the 25 May, then on live servers in North America and Europe the following week, 2 June 2010. See an overview of 1.9 in our earlier coverage.
