Ability to sell guns

One of the most exciting changes in Counter-Strike 2 is the introduction of players’ ability to sell their guns during the buy phase. Previously, in CS:GO, you could not sell any gun or utility if you had bought them mistakenly or just changed your mind before the start of the round. However, thanks to the introduction of this new feature in CS2, you can now change your guns by selling them during the buy phase.

Network and connectivity are one of the most crucial factors in playing any multiplayer FPS game. While the developers can’t do anything to resolve network issues from the players’ end, every dev team has been trying their best to minimize this issue. Valve has newly introduced a 128 sub-tick system in Counter-Strike 2, which is expected to make the players shooting and movement smoother. Read more about this feature by clicking here.

One of the most notable changes in Counter-Strike 2 is the map reworks. Many of the iconic maps have been completely overhauled, while almost all of the maps went through slight reworks for visual and audio improvements. According to previous updates, Valve has divided these maps into three categories according to their updates.

  • Touchstone Maps – These maps will receive slight adjustments.
  • Upgraded Maps – These maps will see massive visual improvements.
  • Overhauled Maps – These maps will be entirely changed with better visuals and more elements.

Responsive smokes

The responsive smoke feature is undoubtedly one of the most exciting features of Counter-Strike 2. The smoke mechanism of CS2 is highly developed and more realistic than CS:GO. To add to this, smoke now reacts to any weapon or utility. For example, shooting any bullet through the smoke will clear the traveling path through the smoke and create a small hole for you to watch enemies on the other side. Moreover, if any impact grenade hits the smoke, the smoke will move away from that area and vanish for a very short amount of time but will give you ample time to spot enemies through the smoke wall.

MR12 system

Valve has focused on making the match time in Counter-Strike 2 shorter, thus introducing the MR12 system. Replacing the first to 16 system, the MR12 has been introduced, making the maximum number of rounds 24 only. The team to reach 13 rounds before the other will eventually end up winning the game. Making the total rounds shorter would certainly make the matches less exhausting for the players, especially at the pro level.

These are all the major changes made in Counter-Strike 2. Counter-Strike 2 is now available on PC. Download the game from here.
