Meta has wrapped up its latest Connect keynote, laying out the future of virtual reality gaming on its Quest 2 devices. Namely, a few games on the VR radar have gotten launch dates confirmed. The first couple are on their way next month. Among Us VR and the former PlayStation VR exclusive Iron Man VR are launching for the Meta Quest 2 this November. It’ll be your month to be a hero… or a sneaky villain.
Marvel’s Iron Man VR was quite popular at launch. Despite seeing only decent reviews, the virtual super hero game managed to sell fairly well in the UK. Now on its way to the Meta Quest 2, Marvel’s Iron Man VR will re-launch on November 3. As you should expect with a game about Iron Man, gameplay consists of flying around as the billionaire playboy philanthropist, fighting using blasters. In the game, Stark finds himself against a hacker by the name of Ghost, who comes equipped with a drone army. And, as per comic book rules, Ghost also has a “mysterious connection to Stark’s past.” Don’t they all?
Among Us VR was announced during the Meta Quest Gaming Showcase earlier this year. As you should sus(pect), the game follows the same beats as its top-down indie equivalent but in first person. Your task is the same: if you’re a crew member, go through your series of jobs while staying alive; if you’re the Imposter, kill everyone in sight and try to avoid getting tossed into cold space. The social deduction game was a massive hit. We’ll have to see if the new perspective brings a fresh change of pace.
A busy month for Quest owners
With Iron Man VR and Among Us VR heading to the Meta Quest 2, November is shaping up to be a good month for owners of the device. Both games have store pages over at the Oculus website if you want more info. At the time of this writing, Iron Man VR has yet to receive a price. However, Among Us VR is getting sold at a reasonable $9.99 USD at its page.
Iron Man VR will launch on November 3, and Among Us VR leaves the air ducts a week later on November 10.
