Apex Legends‘ Mirage Holo-Day Event just ended back on January 7, and they are already giving players more. Respawn Entertainment has revealed its newest limited-time event to close out season three. The Grand Soiree Arcade Event takes us back to the roaring ’20s and introduces seven new limited-time modes (LTMs) over the 14-day event period, with a new mode every two days. It also adds in new skins and challenges. The Grand Soiree Arcade Event will run January 14 – January 28.
Seven LTMs en route to Apex Legends
The first event is Gold Rush Duos on January 14-15 where you and one other friend get to run around World’s Edge and loot only gold weapons and equipment. This mode sounds like pure chaos, which excites me greatly mainly because I get to run a Kraber and Mastiff and relive the Shotty Snipers Halo days.
Next is LIVE.DIE.LIVE on January 16-17. This mode will allow you and friends to fly at and fight everyone you see so long as one of you stays alive. Then at ring closure, your teammates will respawn on you to reloot up and do it all over again. This is similar to regular Apex, but a little more fast-paced since respawning doesn’t require beacons or banners.
January 18-19, Third-Person Mode isn’t a massive difference from standard Apex, but being able to see my Brudda Bear Gibraltar skin tear through people in all its fluffy glory will be pretty neat.
Always Be Closing on January 20-21 brings a ring that never stops closing. Armed and Dangerous on January 22-23 is Shotty Snipers with limited armor. Kings Canyon After Dark on January 24-25 is literally just Kings Canyon after dark.
Finally, DUMMIEs Big Day on January 26-28 seems to have players play as training dummies who have gone rogue. While this mode seems pretty simple, and it is, I wonder if these dummies will have no abilities and all fights will be strictly gun battles. This could be a simple yet fun new take on Apex Legends that puts more focus on gunfights.
Event Prize Track
Apex is also introducing a new Event Prize Track that is very similar to the battle pass system but is strictly for the limited-time event. All of the new modes will have three challenges worth 1000 points on the prize track.
Bonus weekend
Respawn is introducing a new bonus weekend system for Apex Legends in which players can earn more points through weekend-specific challenges. This Bonus Scoring Weekend will start on January 17 at 10:00 a.m. PT and end on January 20 at 10:00 a.m. PT and will allow players to earn an additional 500 points. So, clear up your calendar for this weekend and get these extra points so you can earn more Grand Soiree swag.
