Best Destiny 2 Stasis Titan build: PvP and PvE

You're as cold as ice.

Titans embody the brawn-over-brain playstyle, where the best solution to any problem is to run straight at it and kill it before it kills you. Strand Titans are all the rage, but we can still make Stasis work. With this in mind, let me show you the Best Destiny 2 Stasis Titan build: PvP and PvE.

Best PvE Stasis Titan build in Destiny 2

Before we begin, I want to address the leviathan in the room and lay down some harsh truths. If you’re searching for the most optimal Titan build, Strand is 100% the way to go. We’re due a Stasis rework in Season 23, which may dethrone Strand, but as it stands, you bring Stasis because you enjoy the abilities.

Best PvE Stasis Titan seasonal perks in Destiny 2 Season of the Witch

You can play fast and loose with Seasonal Perks, as most are geared towards Strand or the original three elements.

  • Monochromatic Maestro – Dealing elemental ability damage increases matching weapon damage and elemental weapon damage increases matching ability damage
  • Elemental Embrace – Subclass elemental buffs grant you bonus recovery and damage resistance against combatant attacks of the same element.

I recommend the two perks above, but Stasis got shunned in Season 22, making these completely optional.

Best PvE Stasis Titan Aspects and Fragments

Aspects

  • Cryoclasm – After sprinting for a short while, enables a longer and more powerful slide. Sliding into Stasis Crystals or frozen targets shatters them, and any nearby frozen targets
  • Tectonic Harvest – Shattering a Stasis crystal creates a Stasis shard. This shard grants melee energy when picked up by you or your allies.

Fragments

  • Whisper of Shards – Shattering a Stasis crystal briefly boosts your grenade recharge rate.
  • Whisper of Rime – Collecting a Stasis shard grants a small amount of overshield, which falls off after 10 seconds. Collecting additional shards adds to the overshield and refreshes the timer.
  • Whisper of Bonds – Defeating frozen targets generates an Orb of Power.
  • Whiper of Chains – When near frozen targets or a Stasis crystal, you take reduced damage.

There’s a lot to unpack here, but we can freeze a ton of enemies with this build, and Cryoclasm lets us shatter them with a well-placed slide.

Our Fragments grant buffs when we shatter crystals, and Whisper of Rime and Whisper of Chains serve as our survivability options.

Tectonic Harvest will throw Stasis Shards all over the place, which triggers Whisper of Rime and grants us a valuable Overshield. You’re not invincible with this combination, but you’re very tanky. As long as you keep Skreebs and Cursed Thralls at arm’s length, you’re tough to kill as a Stasis Titan.

Best PvE Stasis Titan Abilities

  • Super – Glaciel Quake
  • Class Ability – Towering Barricade
  • Jump – Strafe Lift
  • Melee – Shiver Strike
  • Grenade – Glacier Grenade

Most of the choices here are a personal preference. I’ve always preferred Towering Barricade, but as it becomes an Overshield with our Exotic Armor, it doesn’t matter what you choose. The Strafe Lift Jump is easy to control, and Shiver Strike is our only Melee ability.

The Glacier is the defacto Stasis Grenade, exploding in a massive wall of crystals. This is the original grenade you learned to use Stasis with, and it has both offensive and defensive applications.

Best PvE Stasis Titan Exotic Armor, weapons, and mods

Exotic Armor

  • Icefall Mantle – Replace your Barrier with an Overshield. Gain a bonus to Stasis Weapon Damage.

Weapons

  • Unending Tempest SMG
  • Cold Comfort Rocket Launcher
  • Recurrent Impact Machine Gun
  • Typhon GL5 Grenade Launcher

Armor Mods

  • Helmet – Discipline Mod, Harmonic Syphon, Heavy Ammo Finder x2
  • Arms – Resilience Mod, Harmonic Loader x2, Harmonic Dexterity
  • Chest – Resilience Mod, Arc Resistance, Solar Resistance, Void Resistance
  • Legs – Resilience Mod, Innervation, Absolution, Recuperation
  • Mark – Resilience Mod, Reaper, Bomber x2

The Icefall Mantle is a superb Exotic for the build as it offers blanket buff to Stasis weapons. We heavily lean into this boost. I’ve recommended some decent Stasis guns, but use whatever you have available.

If you’ve been looking for a decent Stasis Energy Weapon, you’ve probably realized your options are limited. In fact, unless you include the Final Shape preorder weapon, there aren’t any Stasis weapons for the slot.

With this in mind, you can use any weapon you like. I usually take my trusty Luna Regolith III Sniper Rifle, but I recommend picking something content-specific.

The Typhon GL5 drops like hotcakes in S22 and is a superb Stasis Grenade Launcher. The Cold Comfort Rocket Launcher is another good option, and both benefit from Monochromatic Maestro.

Best PvP Stasis Titan Build in Destiny 2

Stasis is arguably the weakest Titan subclass for PvP. Many key pieces of Stasis PvP builds have fallen victim to the Nerf hammer, which is rather sad. That said, you can still have fun with Stasis and bamboozle players with obnoxious walls. Although I wouldn’t bring this build into Trials, it’s fair game in Crucible and Iron Banner.

Best PvP Stasis Titan Aspects and Fragments

  • Whisper of Fissures – Increases the damage and size of the burst of Stasis when you destroy a Stasis crystal or defeat a frozen target.
  • Whisper of Torment – You gain grenade energy each time you take damage from targets.
  • Whiper of Chains – When near frozen targets or a Stasis crystal, you take reduced damage.

Our Aspects remain unchanged from the PvE build, as these also have plenty of utility in PvP. There’s a case for using Howl of the Storm as it enables a spicy lunge attack from sliding. My issue with the Aspect is it’s hard to aim and often lands me in hot water rather than scoring kills.

Although not as impactful as the PvE bonuses, Whisper of Chains and Whisper of Fissures both work in PvP. The little extra survivability is nice, and we gain almost 5% additional shatter damage against Guardians. In PvP, damage is often unavoidable, so Whisper of Torment turns that damage into grenade energy. Torment pairs nicely with Whisper of Shards to ensure we always have Glacier Grenades primed and ready to go.

Best PvP Stasis Titan Abilities

  • Super – Glaciel Quake
  • Class Ability – Towering Barricade
  • Jump – Strafe Lift
  • Melee – Shiver Strike
  • Grenade – Glacier Grenade

These are identical to our PvE build and can be swapped out at your leisure. The Glacier Grenade can be used for some galaxy brain plays, and it’s incredibly satisfying to outplay your frustrated opponents this way.

Best PvP Stasis Titan Exotic Armor, weapons, and mods

Exotic Armor

  • Hoarfrost-Z – When using the Stasis subclass, your Barricade becomes a wall of Stasis crystals that slows nearby targets when created. Standing behind this Barricade will grant you and your allies increased weapon reload speed, stability, and range.

Weapons

  • Unending Tempest SMG
  • Cold Comfort Rocket Launcher

Armor Mods

  • Helmet – Discipline Mod, Harmonic Syphon, Harmonic Targeting
  • Arms – Resilience Mod, Harmonic Loader x2, Harmonic Dexterity
  • Chest – Resilience Mod, Unflinching Harmonic Aim
  • Legs – Resilience Mod, Stasis Weapon Surge x2
  • Mark – Resilience Mod, Reaper, Bomber x2

The Hoarfrost-Z is an incredible Exotic for PvP as it turns our Barricade into a giant wall of slowing Crystals while offering buffs to the team.

The Unending Tempest is a deadly SMG and is an easy choice for us as it’s Stasis. Seriously, this weapon slaps and is useable in a ton of PvE and PvP content.

I’ve lost count of the amount of Guardians I’ve torn apart with the Unending Tempest shooting through Stasis Walls. If you’ve got the map knowledge, you can do incredible things with this combo.

Feel free to mix and match with the other weapons, as you’ll be relying on the Unending Tempest for most of your kills. In the spirit of keeping with Stasis weapons, I often use the Cold Comfort but sometimes swap elements entirely and rock a Machine Gun like the Thunderlord.

Finally, our Mod choices are skewed toward making the Unending Tempest even more deadly. We use just about every Stasis Mod to tip the scales in our favor as much as possible. As I mentioned earlier, Stasis struggles a little in PvP, but this is a tremendously fun build if you can outsmart your opponents with clever wall placements.
