Best Holger 556 zombies build in Modern Warfare 3

This assault rifle is a solid Zombies choice.

While Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has an expansive arsenal that even pulls in weapons from its predecessor, there are few weapons as reliable as the Holger 556 assault rifle. It’s a popular choice for both multiplayer and Warzone, and it’s just as effective in Zombies.

The Holger 556 boasts some of the smoothest recoil and best accuracy in its class. It’s highly versatile and can be built for any occasion. Whether you favor long-range engagements or close-quarters shootouts, the Holger 556 has you covered. When playing Zombies, however, mobility and handling are key. Thankfully, the Holger 556 is flexible enough to be one of the best guns in the entire game.

Since the Holger 556’s specialty is range and accuracy, this build focuses on maximizing that stability while boosting the weapon’s handling and mobility to help you circumvent the undead hordes.

  • Barrel: Chrios-6 Match
  • Underbarrel: DR-6 Handstop
  • Optic: Cronen Intlas MSP-12
  • Magazine: 40 Round Mag
  • Rear Grip: Morn-20 Grip

The Chrios-6 Match Barrel gives the Holger 556 a boost to bullet velocity, range, and recoil control at the cost of ADS speed and a slight mobility penalty. It’s worth the trade-off though, since it makes the Holger 556 a bonafide laser beam that lets you take down Disciples and other pesky Special Zombies from afar without much trouble. The weapon’s stability is buffed even further by the Morn-20 Rear Grip, which smooths out the recoil pattern even more.

Mobility can be the difference between life and death in Zombies though, so the other attachments in this build are focused on making the Holger 556 as lightweight as possible. The DR-6 Handstop is a popular choice for the Underbarrel slot in any build since it increases ADS speed, sprint-to-fire speed, and overall movement speed with only a minor penalty to hipfire and Tac Stance accuracy. It’s a no-brainer.

While you can use any Optic of your choice, there isn’t a better option than the Cronen Intlas MSP-12. It’s an Aftermarket Part so you’ll have to go out of your way to unlock it, but it’s a great fit for any weapon. It’s a dot sight with a built-in laser that provides a huge boost to ADS speed and aiming stability. It makes the Holger 556 feel super snappy, and you don’t have to worry about the visible laser since the Zombies don’t care either way.

Finally, this build tops things off with a 40 Round Mag for the Holger 556. The less time you spend reloading in a Zombies match, the better. Still, it’s only a 10 bullet increase over the Holger 556’s stock 30 Round Mag, so you can swap this out with a Muzzle or Stock attachment if you prefer. If you’re used to a certain Holger 556 multiplayer build, then there’s no shame in using those attachments in place of the Magazine.
