The absolute best Chocobo racing gear for beginners is the Saurian Armor Set. Saurian racing gear is available to the player from the start, although you must purchase each piece from a Tack Shop with the correct amount of Golden Plumes. Each piece of the set cost 4 Golden Plumes.
The Saurian Armor set doesn’t have the fastest speed, but it has high acceleration, arguably the most crucial stat for Chocobo Racing.
