Best Riveter build in MW3: Attachments, loadout, and perks

Tame this deadly auto shotty.

Shotguns are in an odd spot in MW3, often losing close-range fights to SMGs. That said, they are still useable and a brutal force in the Rustment playlist. If you want to try a nasty full-auto shotty, let me show you the best Riveter build in MW3: Attachments, loadout, and perks.

Best Riveter Attachments in MW3

You can build shotguns to excel while ADS or Hipfiring. We’ve gone with the latter for the Riveter as it’s fully automatic, and our attachments reflect this choice. Here’s what I recommend:

  • Laser: 1MW Laser Box
  • Muzzle: Bryson Choke
  • Rear Grip: Sakin ZX Grip
  • Ammunition: .410 Gauge Incendiary
  • Underbarrel: Bruen Bastion Angled Grip

1MW Laser Box

I usually can’t stand a Laser giving away my position, but I feel the benefits are too good to pass up on the Riveter. The 1MW Laser Box reduces our Hipfire spread, bringing the pellets in our shots closer together. This choice makes the weapon more consistent at the cost of a visible beam.

The accuracy improvement is substantial, so I strongly recommend using a laser, even if the visible laser goes against your typical playstyle.

Bryson Choke

The Bryson Choke is one of the few attachments that addresses pellet spread directly. This Muzzle improves our Hipfire performance while negatively impacting ADS speed, which we don’t care about. Oddly enough, the Bryson Choke is much better than the Bryson Improved Choke as it reduces our pellet spread by 5% more.

Sakin ZX Grip

Recoil is easier to manage when Hipfiring, but it can still get out of control. We use the Sakin ZX Grip to counter the Riveter’s savage kick. There’s a case to be made for the XTEN Grip as it improves Sprint to Fire speed, but I rarely find it to be an issue.

.410 Gauge Incendiary Ammunition

Don’t underestimate Incendiary ammo – Image: PC Invasion

Incendiary Ammunition is nasty in Call of Duty, although its true benefits aren’t listed on the stats page. If you’re on the receiving end of a barrage of Incendiary fire, it’s incredibly difficult to shoot back accurately.

The Riveter is a hit marker machine, so any attachment that can make your opponents miss their shots is worth the slot on our build.

Bruen Bastion Angled Grip

Finally, the Bruen Bastion Angled Grip is the ‘best in slot’ attachment for a Hipfire build. No other Underbarrel attachment comes close to the Bruen Grips, offering a whopping 25% improvement to our Hipfire effectiveness. The vertical grip variant is almost identical but slightly reduces our sprint-to-fire speed.

Best secondary, tactical, lethal, and field equipment for the Riveter

  • Secondary: COR-45
  • Tactical: Stun Grenade
  • Lethal: Breacher Drone
  • Field Equipment: Comm Scrambler

You can play fast and loose with these choices, but the Comm Scrambler is obnoxious on small maps, where the Riveter shines. The Breacher Drone is frustrating to play against and feels appropriate to run with a shotgun but pick your favorites here.

Best gloves, boots, gear, and vests for the BAS-B build

  • Gloves: Commando Gloves
  • Boots: Covert Sneakers
  • Gear: Ghost T/V Camo
  • Vest: Infantry Vest

You can run any Gloves you like, as they have minimal impact on this build. The Covert Sneakers and Ghost T/V Camo allow us to get close to our opponents with the least resistance and counter pesky UAVs. The Infantry Vest is great for sprinting, which we’ll fall back on as we’re always playing the spawns and repositioning.
