Best Suit Tech upgrade order in Spiderman 2, ranked

What Suit Tech should you upgrade first in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2?

Honestly, all four Suit Tech categories are important to upgrade, so I recommend upgrading them all at the same speed. If you leave one Suit Tech branch behind, you may feel less powerful overall. Even if your Damage is maxed out, your Traversal will feel slow and uninteresting which isn’t what you want.

However, to rank their importance, I would say you should upgrade the Suit Tech in this order:

  1. Damage
  2. Health
  3. Focus
  4. Traversal

I recommend Damage be your priority because regardless of your difficulty, hitting harder is important. If you find yourself dying often, focus on Health over Damage.

Focus is next in line after Damage and Health because it’s your primary way of healing and doing cool moves. Technically, Traversal is the least important in Spiderman 2, but it’s the most fun part of the game. Going faster is how you have more fun web-slinging, after all.

Now that you know what the best Suit Tech order is, I’ll give you some advice on which upgrades to pick in each category. Also, pro tip: before we dive into the best upgrade options, you should learn the best ways to farm Tech Parts as you’ll need a lot of them to unlock all the upgrades, gadgets, and suits in the game.

Best Health upgrades in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

The best Health Suit Tech upgrades are Confidence Boost and Life Link. These two skills are easy to trigger more often which will maximize healing.

In my opinion, dodging happens more frequently than parrying, but if you are a parry pro, go with Rejuvenating Parry. I prefer Life Link because it’s easy and fun to spam web-shooters and you’ll heal a little, too. The Best Defense is a little too hard to trigger, so I recommend avoiding it.

If you want the best Damage Suit Tech upgrades in Spiderman 2, go with Air Marshal and The Floor Is Lava. Out of all the Suit Tech upgrades, these two create the best synergy and make boss fights extremely easy because you do so much more damage in the air.

Focused Parry is fine and works well with Rejuvenating Parry, but dealing extra damage to enemies in the air is so much better. For any type of enemy, including bosses, hold down square to launch them in the air and see their health disappear thanks to Air Marshal.

Air Marshal pairs really well with The Floor Is Lava because your air attacks do even more damage. If Air Marshal wasn’t overpowered enough, The Floor Is Lava gives you an extra up to 50% damage to airborne enemies. Trust me, this combo is insane.

Best Focus upgrades in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

I don’t love the Scan in Spiderman 2, so I recommend the Focused Strike and Perfect Sight Suit Tech upgrades for Focus.

While there is some utility in the other Focus upgrades, Focused Strike is a better option to get your abilities back faster and Perfect Sight is really helpful in tough fights, especially boss fights, because it helps you not take that final blow. Plus, it pairs really well with Confidence Boost to heal yourself after a slowed-down perfect dodge.

Best Traversal upgrades in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

For Traversal, all four options are great and up to your personal preference. The only upgrade I’d recommend here is All Seeing because it helps you farm Tech Parts much easier.

If you use Charge Jump or Slingshot Launch often, go with Charged. If you often use L2 and R2 to thwip to a specific point while traversing through the city, Acrobat is nice to get an extra boost. When you aren’t using All Seeing, Active Spider is a fun one to give more juice to your Spider-Jump and Spider-Dash.
