Best way to farm Argon Crystal in Warframe

Stalker stole my Argon Crystals...

Argon Crystals are a unique resource in Warframe and are required in over 200 blueprints. Whether you’re crafting new Warframes or weapons, you’ll need a ship full of them, so let me show you the best way to farm Argon Crystal in Warframe.

How to farm Argon Crystals in Warframe

You can find Argon Crystals on any planet in the Void, although they are rare and hard to obtain. Beware, as enemies hit exceptionally hard in this area, and it can be a rude awakening for new players. If you’ve not unlocked the Void yet, it’s to the far left of the Star Map. One popular method for farming is to use Limbo built with max range mods, as these affect the Warframe’s Cataclysm ability.

Argon Crystals can drop from enemies or containers, and Cataclysm breaks open every container it reaches, although you still have to open lockers manually. Limbo’s ability is helpful, but I prefer a different method.

While you can farm any area in the Void, I like missions with never-ending enemy spawns for a better chance of Argon Crystals. Head to the survival mission on Mot (pictured above). The benefit of farming here is enemy spawns are relentless and the map is small. You can use a nuking frame and patrol the middle of the map. Argon Crystals are a rare drop, but they will appear. I often get ten or more from a 25-minute session, not to mention a decent amount of XP.

My favorite Warframes for this task are Mesa and Octavia, as both can delete huge groups of enemies within seconds. Even if you don’t have a powerful nuking Warframe, Mot is a well-known farming location for Argon Crystals, and you’ll usually find experienced players doing the same thing. Just keep in mind that the area is rated as level 45, so I strongly recommend investing in survivability mods like Vitality and Steel Fiber before attempting. If you’re a new player, low-level Void areas like the Defense Mission on Taranis will be a slower but safer alternative.

Why do my Argon Crystals disappear in Warframe?

Argon Crystals have a frustrating trait as they decay in real time. You will lose half of your Argon Crystals every day. The timer rolls over at 00:00 GMT, and if any of your Argon Crystals are over 24 hours old at that time, half of them will disappear.

It’s important to remember that both time requirements must be met before you lose materials. For example, if you farm a bunch of Argon Crystals at 9PM, you don’t have to worry about them vanishing until midnight the following evening. While this makes Argon Crystal decay more lenient, you can’t stockpile them.

Warframe is full of weird and wonderful tasks and puzzles. If the Enigma Puzzles have you scratching your head, check out our guide for their locations.
