LEGO Fortnite: The best ways to survive the cold temperatures

The first (and probably easiest) method is by creating a campfire. This can be done by simply looking for wood. It’s the first thing you can create. Additionally, when it rains the fire doesn’t die out, so you can keep warm, even during a downpour. The only issue is that you need to be near the campfire to stay warm, otherwise, the gauge will go down when you start moving away. If you sleep near a fire, you can heal and stay warm at the same time — time just doesn’t pass.

Alternatively, you can find Spicy Peppers in the Dry Valley, from Loot Llamas, and chests. You can eat them alone, but you’ll get about two minutes of warmth from the peppers. However, if you cook them in a dish like in Breath of the Wild, you can make the effects last longer. In other words, unlike staying by a campfire, you move around and be warm for a limited amount of time.

How to know that you’re cold?

If you’re in a hot or cold climate, you’ll get a message that tells you that you’re either freezing or sweating. The other way is to check the gauge on the top left of the screen. If the dial is on the left, you’re cold, and then you’re warm if the dial moves right. You want to be in the middle.

If you want to turn off those hot and cold messages altogether and get more immersed, we have a guide on how to turn it off to make your game a little tough, sure, but it’ll take you deeper into the survival experience.

Fortnite is free to play via Epic Games, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and Mobile.
