Best weapons in Remnant 2

Get your guns.

Remnant 2 has a fantastic selection of weapons, each of which brings something new to the table. I loved finding the various guns and melee weapons hidden around the maps and seeing what kind of hell they unleashed.

Which weapons should you be using in Remnant 2?

I played through Remnant 2 and found myself returning time and time again to certain weapons. As much as I loved using the wide variety laid out for me, some were just clearly superior.

Blackmaw AR-47

When I originally played Remnant 2, I got myself equipped with the Bonesaw and pretty much ran with that gun for almost the whole game. I had a ring that helped deal with the overheating and a mod that returned a significant amount of ammo to the chamber. It was fantastic. However, I then discovered the Blackmaw AR-47 and realized how much time I had wasted.

The Blackmaw makes the list as one of the best weapons in Remnant 2 due to its high accuracy, amazing damage, and ease of use. it can be bought from Brabus in Ward 13, making it super accessible, and can easily carry you through the game.

Cube Gun

Once you have managed to defeat the Labyrinth boss in Remnant 2, you will be awarded the Conflux Prism. McCabe can turn this into the Cube Gun, which was my choice of secondary weapon for almost the whole game.

What makes the Cube Gun one of the most unique weapons in Remnant 2 is its ability to stay fully reloaded, provided you have the aim. Bullets are immediately returned to the chamber once they have come into contact with something. This means that if you’re hitting your target, your gun is going to keep shooting. However, miss over a ravine, and there isn’t much you can do.

The Cube Shield is another amazing bonus to this gun. The shield can be activated, taking the damage from surrounding enemies. Once activated a second time, it blasts outwards and damages everything it hits. These brief moments of respite are what you sometimes need to get your stuff together in the middle of a big fight.

World’s Edge

My pick for melee weapon has to be the World’s Edge. It could earn its place on the list on design alone, but it actually packs quite a punch, too. The sword is made from the glowing remains of the World Stone and looks the part.

The World’s Edge delivers 101 damage at its base level, which is fantastic for a melee weapon. This can be further boosted with specific melee builds. What makes the sword unique is its built-in mod. When charged up, this mod releases a huge horizontal wave that causes 116 damage to anything it hits. This is perfect for crowd control.

However, you can only get this absolute beast by completing the campaign in Apocalypse mode. The challenge is no easy feat and will take some mega dedication. This is one of the weapons that is worth struggling for in Remnant 2.

Alpha/Omega

Alpha/Omega doesn’t look like the apocalypse machine it actually is at first glance, but once you get under the hood, it clearly stands out. This is one of the best weapons in Remnant 2 due to the amazing mod that sets it far apart from other long guns in the same category.

The Beta Ray mod that the Alpha/Omega is equipped with brands the targets it hits. Once these targets die, they leave behind a mark. Once the gun is reloaded or swapped out, all of these marks explode, causing 225 damage to all around it. Slain enemies also return between 10-15% of ammo and power to the weapon.

The gun can be picked up from McCabe once the Annihilation has been destroyed at Root Earth.

Nebula

This is another handgun for the list, but again, it comes with a mod that really makes it one of the best weapons in Remnant 2. The base stats are pretty basic, with only 12 damage and a commendable 55-round magazine.

The mod imbued in this weapon can bring serious damage to a whole room of enemies. When the mod is activated, a swarm of nanobots come flying from the gun and will damage all enemies within a 20-meter radius with acid. The attack lasts for a solid 15 seconds, giving you lots of time to take a breather.

The Nebula can be collected from McCabe once you have defeated Tal Ratha in the Forgotten Prison.

The Widowmaker

The list wouldn’t be complete without a sniper rifle. We can’t all wade into every battle spraying bullets. The Widowmaker is one of the best Remnant 2 weapons for picking off foes from a safe distance. This gun is super easy to get your hands on but hard to master.

You can pick up the gun from Brabus for a measly 1000 scrap. Once you have it, the real charm comes from how you build around it. The gun only has one shot and comes with a 120% weak spot damage bonus, so you’re going to have to be really accurate.

I build it with rings like the Gunslinger for quicker firing and the Outcast ring to speed up reloads. Once you have mastered the weapon, it can be a perfect opener to any fight.
