Black Myth Wukong Steam Gameplay Footage Release Date Pc 2024 Trailer

Black Myth: Wukong has new gameplay preview footage and Steam page

Slow but steady.

Select media and influencers had the chance to attend a preview event this last weekend showcasing a gameplay demo for Black Myth: Wukong. We’ve known about this next-gen Souls-like for years now thanks to a slow rollout of trailers over the years. Now it’s in the latter stages of development and should release in summer 2024 according to the latest details.

Developer Game Science Studio also launched an official Steam page for the game to mark the first preview event.

Black Myth: Wukong becomes reality

IGN released a hands-on preview detailing the experience with the demo, further explaining takeaways from the combat and what sets this game apart from the competition. The stunning graphics are impossible to miss, but there’s more to like about this game for those interested in Eastern action adventures.

While the Japanese games industry historically dominated most Eastern action adventure games, Black Myth: Wukong is based on Chinese mythology and developed by the Game Science team headquartered in Hangzhou, China.

The adventure is based on an epic story called Journey to the West, and the game’s full of mythical creatures and magic themes. It has everything you could want out of an Eastern fantasy adventure, wrapped up in Unreal Engine 5 graphics in a package that’ll try to mercilessly kill you.

The combat is far more dramatic compared to the Souls games, but it definitely comes across with a similar tone and feel based on what we’ve seen thus far.

The preview footage covers several of the known boss fights so far, which include a sly monkey raider, an aggressive tiger warrior, a nimble insectoid, and a very fatal looking scorpion hulk. The protagonist’s same melee staff weapon is used in all of the footage thus far, but there are many abilities including alternate forms they can transform into to gain new move sets.

Frankly, there’s still a lot we don’t know about the gameplay for Black Myth: Wukong. At least another year of development is required, so we should expect to learn more in due time. Keep an eye out for more footage at Gamescom 2023 if you want to see more.
