Develop magazine took several factors into account, including sales figures and review scores,  when building a list of the top 100 most bankable development studios. Blizzard, the company behind the MMORPG World of Warcraft, came out on top, with Nintendo at number two and British company, Rockstar North (Grand Theft Auto, Manhunt) in third place.  Nintendo held pole position last year, but Blizzard’s annula revenue of over a billion dollars has placed it firmly in the lead.

Over a quarter of the companies on the list were British, including the makers of LittleBigPlanet, Media Molecule, and two mobile phone games developers even made the list in 35th and 98th position.”Our yearly Develop 100 has become an essential read for games industryexecutives the world over,” said Develop editor-in-chief MichaelFrench. “It is read by everyone in the sector, from the tiniestindependents to business leaders at gaming giants like Electronic ArtsHQ in America to Kojima Productions in Japan. With widened criteriawhich better reflect the fast-changing and various business modelsadopted by studios across the globe, this edition is no different.”
