LEGO Fortnite: Can you play offline?

With an ample amount of live service games available to players throughout every genre, sometimes we’re not able to have a stable internet connection but still want to check out new games such as LEGO Fortnite.

This is why playing offline is a great feature to have with games that can be played by yourself, and when it comes to LEGO Fortnite, we have some bad news.

For the time being, LEGO Fortnite cannot be played offline in any capacity, and we aren’t to sure if Epic is going to change this in the near future. Lots of reasoning can be attributed to this, and we can assume that Fortnite, an online game with numerous servers, is perhaps the main reason behind this.

This, of course, is disappointing for some players, as there are always some added benefits to playing offline, and we’ve seen this within Minecraft. However, with LEGO Fortnite, there’s also the added touch of challenges and other features, such as being able to back out of the game and head to the item shop in a minute, which wouldn’t be possible without the internet.

An offline mode would do wonders for players who don’t always have a stable internet connection, along with not needing to have the hassle of installing updates. This would also provide a smoother gameplay experience, as the Fortnite servers are known for not being the best at certain times, especially during patch days. So, all of this can contribute to why Epic might consider adding this game mode soon.

With the game being an open-world sandbox, we’ve seen some creative builds, and there’s bound to be more content coming, including new pre-built structures and whatnot. However, LEGO Fortnite at least offers a feature for players to join their friends’ worlds while they’re offline, as long as they’re made a key holder, which we’ve covered further here.
