Coral Island console versions leave players online asking for fixes and updates

Console-player blues.

Although the Coral Island 1.0 version has excited many new players, many others playing the console versions seemed to leave players online asking for bug fixes.

Many players online have left complaints about how buggy the console versions have been. This is after Coral Island launched from Early Access to its full version, and it’s now available on consoles for the first time.

Coral Island players on console aren’t happy with how buggy the game is

It’s unfortunate to say that while the PC version of Coral Island and its full release seems to have gone smoothly, the console versions now leave players online asking Stairway Games for updates and fixes. As this farming and life sim is now available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S (and Game Pass), there have been several complaints about issues like bugs, crashes, and the like.

Certain posts like this one on Reddit are simply asking about an ETA on the console fixes. This is due to issues like horrible stuttering and no music playing. But there are also posts like the one above that have over 200 upvotes claiming that marking this as a 1.0 release was disingenuous.

Quite a few players in other posts on this subreddit, as well as replies to this post specifically, have agreed that there are severe bugs like main story quests missing, constant crashes, control issues, and it being an overall broken experience for console players. This user is also upset about the fact that Stairway Games hiked up the price from Early Access, despite the fact that the game didn’t seem to be ready yet.

I myself am playing Coral Island on Steam and have yet to experience any buggy issues. Still, it’s disheartening to see how console players are faring. In one reply, the user fishingforwoos outlined some of their issues.

Apparently, Coral Island crashes often, and placing buildings consumes resources but then nothing gets built. Also, the skill Double Catch won’t work. With the full release only just recently arriving on storefronts, we’ll have to wait and see whether Stairway Games makes a statement or gets right to work on fixing these game-breaking bugs.
