Cyberpunk 2077: How to unlock melee finishers

Melee Kombat.

If you’ve already been through Night City before the 2.0 update, you’ll remember that Cyberpunk 2077 already had melee finishers. But they would occur randomly whenever the game felt like letting you do it. Which was a shame because there’s no better feeling than doing cool things with a cyber-katana. Luckily, the 2.0 update has brought a massive overhaul to the melee combat and finishers. So, let’s talk about how you can unlock melee finishers in Cyberpunk 2077 now.

Melee finishers in Cyberpunk 2077 are a little more complicated now. They don’t trigger randomly as you dispatch an enemy this time around. Instead, you have to unlock the relative perks in the new skill tree. Finishers are now split up into two separate perks on the skill tree.

The first one we’ll tackle is the Bladerunner skill which unlocks finishers for Blades in Cyberpunk 2077. This is located on the Reflexes skill tree and is the second node on the right branch. In order to unlock this skill you’ll need to spend two points on Lead and Steel, and then three points on Bladerunner.

For Blunt weapons, you need to head over to the Body skill tree. Then you need to unlock the Savage Sling perk which is the third node on the right side. You’ll need to fully upgrade Wrecking Ball and Quake in order to unlock Savage Sling. Both Blade Runner and Savage Sling work the same way. When an enemy’s health is low, you can press the designated button to finish them off in style. Both of these moves are pretty brutal and will make melee combat a little more satisfying.

These melee finisher perks are emblematic of the work that CD Projekt Red has put into Cyberpunk 2077’s 2.0 update. Nearly every aspect of the core gameplay has been touched up and redesigned. And for players that favor melee weapons, perks like these make these builds far more interesting.
