Day of the Tentacle Remastered gets first shots

Double Fine are cat IndieCade this weekend where they will be showing off Day of the Tentacle Remastered for the first time. The remastered version of the classic adventure, which was released in 1993, will be coming out on PC next year.

If you missed this brilliant game the first time around then you’ll want to check out this time travel puzzle adventure which was Tim Schaefer’s first game as project lead. It was an absolute classic and worthy follow-up to Ron Gilbert’s Maniac Mansion.

To show how the game has been spruced up, Double Fine released a batch of shots and there’s a nice comparison screen included.

I will always love the pixel version, apart from the loading it up in dos.

AFAIK you can still play the ‘pixel version’ with the touch of a button, Monkey Island style.

And I don’t know how many faults you’ll see in DOTT, especially considering the current state of video gaming. No need to put on the nostalgia glasses to appreciate DOTT, it’s an excellent game in its own right.

Looks like crap if you ask me- DOSBOX has better filters than that. In any case, Double Fine isn’t seeing a cent from me after their anti-GG and pro-Sarkeesian remarks in the past year not to mention their bungling around “Broken Age”.
