Microsoft may not be shutting down Games for Windows Live in the form of a cackling man flicking a switch and ending the service overnight, but it’s still a hollow entity limping along on life support. No surprise, then, that publishers and developers continue to move their games over to things like Steamworks.

Capcom is the latest publisher to update people on plans to do just that. The Capcom Unity blog confirms that Dead Rising 2, Dead Rising 2: Off The Record and Resident Evil 5 will transform into Steamworks titles “early next year.” All three are currently GfWL offerings.

“With the global popularity of the Steamworks platform, we’ve seen high demand from fans to bring these highly requested titles to this platform. Moving to Steamworks will allow more fans across the world to enjoy these games,” sayeth the blog post.

More specific dates for when this transition will occur with each title are promised in the near-ish future.
