Destiny 2 Cartesian Coordinate Guide

Destiny 2: Cartesian Coordinate godroll and location

This one packs a punch.

The Cartesian Coordinate is a Solar Fusion Rifle that’s had a pretty mixed history in Destiny 2. It used to be an awful weapon for all intents and purposes.

But with time it improved and is now one of the better Legendary Fusion rifles in the game. Here’s how you can get your very own Cartesian Coordinate and the perks that make it shine.

Where to find the Cartesian Coordinate in Destiny 2

The Cartesian Coordinate is both very easy to find and also extremely awkward. It’s a global drop throughout Destiny 2, so practically any activity has the chance of rewarding you with the Cartesian Coordinate. That sounds great until you’re eight Strikes deep and see no sight of the gun. That’s when acquiring the gun can be a massive pain.

Another option is to complete Gunsmith Bounties from Banshee-44 since he rewards you with Legendary Engrams. Any of these engrams could contain the Cartesian Coordinate so it’s definitely worth your time to unlock a few of them.

Cartesian Coordinate god roll

The Cartesian Coordinate doesn’t have a massive pool of perks of to pull from. But most of them are good and can improve the gun enough to make it viable for tough PvE content. But with the right spread of perks this gun can be useful nearly anywhere in Destiny 2. Here are the perks to look out for:

  • Red Dot 2 MOA or Red Dot Micro
  • Accelerated Coils or Particle Repeater
  • Under Pressure or Slideways
  • Vorpal Weapon or High-Impact Reserves

Cartesian Candidate has four perks that make this weapon exceptional. In the third slot, I prefer to have Slideways since it partially reloads the magazine and buffs Stability and Handling. But Under Pressure is also good for providing more Stability and Accuracy as the magazine gets lower.

Vorpal Weapon is brilliant any game mode since it buffs damage dealt to vehicles and bosses, and then also to Guardians in PvP when they’re in their super. High-Impact Reserves is also really good since it makes the last round at the end of the magazine deal more damage.

Fusion Rifles are already one of the more broken weapon types in Destiny 2. Their high damage makes them useful in any situation where you need to take something down fast. And if you can get perks that make the Cartesian Coordinate do even more damage in Destiny 2, you’ll have a dangerous weapon at your disposal.
