Guardians are used to getting lumps of coal instead of presents from Xur, but it appears the Agent of the Nine is in good spirits. Xur is selling the coveted Calus Mini Tool this week in Destiny 2. If you don’t know why that’s a good thing, let me explain why.
PSA: Get five Calus Mini Tools from Xur while you still can
The Calus Mini Tool is a superb Solar Submachine Gun and arguably one of the best PvE Mob clearers in Destiny 2. The weapon is also pretty rare, and it’s been a very long time since Xur has brought one to sell.

I recommend buying five because you can use Deepsight Harmonizers on them. Once you’ve done this five times, you can shape one of your own and pick the perks. Deepsight Harmonizers are pretty hard to come by, but there are a few on the Season of the Wish Season Pass. Unfortunately, you can only use a Deepsight Harmonizer once on each weapon, hence the recommendation to buy five.
The Legendary Shard cost may be steep, but it’s well worth the cost of admission.
What Perks should I put on the Calus Mini Tool?
I recommend Incandescent as it’s phenomenal for PvE. Pair Incandescent with Unrelenting, and you’ll have a mob-clearing monster SMG that regenerates your health while you slay with it.
Is Xur selling any other good gear this week?
It seems Xur is in festive spirits, as he’s also selling The Liar’s Handshake Exotic Gauntlets. These Gauntlets are for Hunters only but have superb stats with great rolls in Resilience and Discipline.
