Diablo II: Resurrected gets an official release date and preorder info

The devil is coming, and now we know when

At today’s Xbox and Bethesda conference the highly anticipated remaster of Diablo II, Diablo II: Resurrected now has an official release date. In this new remaster, the 2D character models from the original are now rendered in glorious high-resolution 3D. The game also supports 4K resolution and includes fully remastered 7.1 Dolby Surround audio.

All of the game’s original cutscenes are also being completely re-rendered and updated with new graphics. But for those worried about the gameplay being messed with, Blizzard assures us that the gameplay will be changed at an absolute minimum. The only few changes are some pretty across the board good changes like a larger stash and automatic gold pickup. The game also includes a remaster of the Lords of Destruction expansion pack.

The game will also feature cross-progression for those with a linked Battle.net account. You will still need the game on whatever other platform you’re playing it on though of course. We also know that a beta for the game will drop in August. In this beta, five of the seven playable classes will be available to play. Unless some other older bugs aren’t fixed by then.

Back in the habit

Diablo II: Resurrected now has an official release date of September 23. But those who preorder will also get early access to the beta. You can check out the game’s official website for more information on that. Diablo 2 Resurrected will be available as a standalone purchase for $39.99 USD. There will also be a bundle called the Diablo Prime Evil Collection for $59.99 USD. This bundle will contain Diablo 2 Resurrected, and the Diablo III Eternal Collection. Included in which is Diablo III, the Reaper of Souls expansion, and the Rise of the Necromancer content pack. As well as the Mephisto pet and Hatred’s Grasp wings for Diablo III .

If you preorder you will also get the Heritage of Arreat transmog for Diablo III, which will be available in the game by September 23. This lets barbarians in Diablo III barbarians use the blue war paint and leather armor of the Diablo II barbarian.
