There is a lot of variety and options when it comes to creating unique classes in Diablo 4. The skill tree is massive, as well as the Paragon board that unlocks at level 50. Can you refund skill points for free in Diablo 4?

If you go to your skill tree and hover over a skill you own, there is an option to refund it to get a skill point back. To explain whether refunding skill points is always free in Diablo 4, I have to explain the rules. First, you can refund skill points for free up until your character is level 7. After that, upon each level up, the cost of refunding a skill gets more expensive.

It’ll start at the cost of one gold, and will progressively raise in price the higher your level is. The reasoning behind this is the higher your level is, the more gold you’ll inevitably earn overtime playing Diablo 4. If it were to still be free at level 50, that wouldn’t really be fair. But, there is an option to refund all of your skill points. It won’t cost you a thing, but will start you over with no skills. This is great for anyone who wants to experiment with entirely new builds.

At the bottom of your skill tree, you can choose to refund every skill point. Also, refunding a singular skill may affect another skill further down the tree that’s connected to it. That’s why I believe it’s better to refund all your skill points for free. So no, refunding your skill points isn’t always free, but the cost of refunding one skill at a time isn’t too expensive. The skill tree is quite huge in Diablo 4, so there are a lot of opportunities to experiment and find your best build.
