Disney To Bring ‘Ultimate Band’

Yes, a Disney game to take on the likes of ‘Guitar Hero’ and ‘Rock Band’, but ‘Ultimate Band’ won’t have the full kit.  Instead it’ll just use the Wii remote (and stylus on DS) as virtual instruments.

By using the controls as virtual instruments, players can chose whether to be the drummer, bass or lead guitarist, or to take on the role of the “front man”, where the front man plays the role of an entertainer that is trying to fire up the crowd.

The game is set to incorporate a list of some of music’s “biggest names”, but we’re still to find out who they are.

The DS version will be rhythm based and include a built-in recording studio that will allow players to either record their own tracks, or play with existing tracks.  It will also let players mess with effects and connect to others online.

So if you don’t fancy spending a fortune on peripherals, then this might be the way forward.  Let’s just hope that the songs won’t all be from our favourite Disney Classics.
