Do Pals Evolve in Palworld?

Can your Pals get even bigger and stronger?

Palworld is a game all about capturing creatures and sending them off into battle. In other games with this premise, such creatures can evolve into mightier forms. Does Palworld also use this feature?

Can Pals Evolve in Palworld?

Unfortunately, Pals don’t evolve into stronger forms in Palworld. You may have expected this to be otherwise, considering that there are some Pals that definitely seem to be the evolved form of another Pal, like Pengullet and Penking. However, this is not the case. Your Pals do earn new skills as they level up, but they will stay in that form forever.

Instead of evolutions, Palworld does have “subspecies,” which means that some Pals have more than one rendition. These subspecies Pals have elevated stats from the original Pal, look different, and spawn in different locations. They will also have a different element and a modified skill set, although the Passive skill will remain the same.

These Subspecies are strictly separated, however. You can’t turn a Pal into its subspecies and vice versa.

Although the Pals don’t evolve, there are other ways to make your Pals more powerful.

Ways to make your Pals stronger other than leveling

Instead of evolution to increase the power of Pals (other than leveling), Palworld has a couple of avenues you can take instead.

Statues of Power, ones built or found, can increase the HP, Attack, Defense, and Work Speed of Pals through the use of Pal Souls. When interacting with a Statue of Power, you can choose the Pal you want to upgrade, and choose the stats you want to elevate. This allows you to micromanage and select which stats you want to increase for each of your Pals.

Also, the Pal Essence Condenser (Ancient Technology) allows you to sacrifice Pals of the same species to upgrade all the combat stats of one Pal. Every time you do this, that Pal will get a star under their name. You can do this four times, and each time is much more demanding with the amount of Pals you need.

So instead of evolving Pals to become more powerful, you can instead fuse unwanted Pals and use Pal Souls to level up individual stats.

Now that you know all about evolution in Palworld, why don’t you learn how to take on the Rayne Syndicate Tower?
