Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot has some new DLC on the way, as revealed by Bandai Namco Entertainment, and it ought to excite Dragon Ball fans. The update will come in two parts and includes characters and transformations from Dragon Ball Super.

The most exciting part of the Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot DLC has to be that players will gain access to the power level of a Super Saiyan God. This iconic pink-haired transformation will be achieved through training with the angel Whis. Whis trains Goku and Vegeta throughout Dragon Ball Super, helping them reach new heights of power.

From the picture below, it looks like both Goku and Vegeta will be able to use the new transformation in the Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot DLC. They both reach this power level in the anime, so it’s nice to have confirmation that Vegeta will do the same in-game. The real question, which we don’t yet have an answer for, is if they will be able to reach Super Sayian Blue.

Where there’s a Whis, there’s a Beerus

Whis serves as the angelic attendant to the God of Destruction, Beerus. Beerus is an incredibly powerful being, far stronger than even the Super Saiyan God forms of our heroes. The announcement from Bandai Namco also confirms that Beerus will enter Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot as a boss.

At the start of Dragon Ball Super, Goku faces off against Beerus to save the earth from destruction. It’s safe to assume the game will have a similar mission to the anime’s story.

Beerus is always very confident in his power and is one of Goku’s toughest opponents.

Bandai Namco has revealed that players can access the new content at any point. Additionally, you can use the newly acquired Super Saiyan God powers in the game’s main storyline. Poor Raditz, having to face a Super Saiyan God. It’s a bit overkill.

The Super Saiyan Gods arrive

Players who purchase the Season Pass for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will gain access to part one of the DLC, titled “A New Power Awakens,” in spring 2020. Players who don’t own the Season Pass will be able to purchase parts one and two later this year. At this time, it’s not clear whether there are two purchases or just one.

Either way, you will need the base game to play the DLC, which you can find on Steam.
