Dragon’s Dogma 2 Glyndwr romance guide

Romance this charming elf in Dragon's Dogma 2.

Romance may not seem like a huge mechanic in Dragon’s Dogma 2, but just like the first game, using the Affinity system to determine your beloved is much more important than you may think.

While Dragon’s Dogma 2 positions characters like Ulrika as major romance options for most players, you can technically romance any character in the game, including random NPCs that aren’t even involved in any quests. One eligible bachelor who has caught the attention of many Dragon’s Dogma 2 players is Glyndwr, an elf with a lengthy side quest chain that kicks off in Vernworth near the start of the game.

You can romance Glyndwr in Dragon’s Dogma 2, but there are some prerequisites that you need to complete before you can start the courting process. Since Glyndwr has quests for you, you’ll need to complete his entire questline for him to become a romance option.

How to Complete Glyndwr’s Quests in Dragon’s Dogma 2

The first quest, Gift of the Bow, takes place in Vernworth right after you arrive in the city for the first time. To complete this quest, just find Glyndwr standing in front of the shops and then give him a human-made bow. He’ll ask you to help him train, so switch to the Archer Vocation and head northwest toward the Sacred Arbor to meet Glyndwr at his training grounds.

After helping him learn to shoot the bow, head back to Vernworth and you’ll find Glyndwr in front of the shops again Speak to him to begin the second quest, A Trial of Archery. Return to the Sacred Arbor and you’ll eventually learn that Glyndwr’s sister has been captured by an ogre. Defeat the ogre and save his sister to complete the quest. We don’t think his sister’s death will lock you out of the romance route, but try to make sure she stays alive during the battle with the ogre just in case.

How to Romance Glyndwr in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Once you’ve wrapped up Glyndwr’s questline, it’s time to start the romance process. To romance Glyndwr, you need to raise his Affinity level to the maximum. Unfortunately, there isn’t a dedicated kissing cutscene with Glyndwr like there is with Ulrika, but he can still be your beloved for a crucial moment later in the game.

To raise Glyndwr’s Affinity level, you need to visit him at the Sacred Arbor and shower him with gifts. Glyndwr enjoys beautiful and fancy items, so try to impress him with anything pretty or elegant. Gemstones like Jasper are perfect for this, and the same goes for fancy things like Fruit Wine.

If you own a home in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’ll also find Glyndwr waiting at your door after completing his questline. He’ll ask you to accompany him on a pleasant jaunt, which is just a walk to a certain destination marked on your map. If you make it there successfully, you’ll get a huge Affinity boost.

You’ll know that you’ve maxed out Glyndwr’s Affinity level if he starts blushing when you speak to him. It’s a very noticeable pink blush, so it’s hard to miss. At this point, all you need to do to ensure that Glyndwr is your official beloved is make sure he’s the last NPC that you speak to before the end of the game.

Without spoiling too much, go talk to him after completing the main story quest called “A New Godsway.” This leads right into “The Guardian Gigantus,” and this quest is the point of no return. Your beloved in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is the NPC with the highest Affinity level that you last spoke to before the cutoff point, so make sure that you pay a visit to Glyndwr when the time is right.
