Dragon’s Dogma 2 player saves everyone’s time and money by making a free “change appearance” item mod

Save your money!

After the communal backlash targeting Dragon’s Dogma 2‘s microtransactions, it’s a welcomed surprise to see a modder create a mod that gives players as much free in-game Art of Metamorphosis, the item you need to change your appearance, as they want. Here’s how it works.

How to change your appearance for free in Dragon’s Dogma 2

The only way to fully change your Arisen’s and Pawn’s appearance in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is to use Art of Metamorphosis. You can spend USD $1.99 to buy one Art of Metamorphosis or spend 500 RC in-game to get an Art of Metamorphosis. Honestly, both methods are costly — one costs time, and the other costs actual money. There’s a third option for PC Dragon’s Dogma 2 players and it’s to download the Early n’ Cheap Art of Metamorphosis mod.

The Early n’ Cheap Art of Metamorphosis mod is the way to go, especially because it allows you to avoid deleting your Dragon’s Dogma 2 saves. The Early n’ Cheap Art of Metamorphosis mod is created by SilverEzredes and is available for free on Nexus Mods. With the mod installed, you can buy up to 99 Art of Metamorphosises, which cost 10 Gold each, from the first merchant in Melve and Philbert’s Sundries in Vernworth.

To use the Early n’ Cheap Art of Metamorphosis mod, you need to first download Fluffy Mod Manager. With that downloaded, go to Early n’ Cheap Art of Metamorphosis Files and select “Manual Download”. From there, put SILVER_ArtOfMetaMorph.rar inside ModManager/Games/DragonsDogma2/Mods. Boot up the game, go to one of the vendors selling Art of Metamorphosis, and you can acquire the ability to change your appearance with ease.

While unfortunate, I don’t think the microtransactions in Dragon’s Dogma 2 ruin the game. I’m glad to see modders like SilverEzredes react quickly and give the players what they want without having to spend money. Since we don’t need to worry about Art of Metamorphosis anymore, we can focus on defeating enemies in The Brine.
