Dragon’s Dogma sequel coming, series will become “major franchise”

Capcom has announced plans to continue development of Dragon’s Dogma, with plan to turn it into a “major franchise”.

The news comes as the publisher announces that Dragon’s Dogma has now shipped over one million units in its first month this past May. In Japan it became the fastest-selling new console IP of this generation.

Capcom were also keen to state that Dragon’s Dogma marks the 55th time that one of their games have shipped over one million copies.

The plan is to add Dragon’s Dogma to Capcom “pillar of earnings” titles, alongside the likes of Monster Hunter and Street Fighter.
