It shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who has played Remake or the OG FF7, but Aerith is the best healer in FF7 Rebirth. There are a multitude of reasons for Aerith being the best healer in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Most notably, Aerith has some of the best magic stats in the game. Moreover, even though Red XIII has better base magic, stats aren’t the only reason why Aerith is the best.

If you have someone like Red, Cloud, or even Tifa as the healer, they’ll need to step back from attacking to heal without taking damage. Conversely, Aerith’s main attacks are ranged, meaning she is already out of the main line of fire. This, combined with a Pray Materia she has from the beginning of the game, gives her the best tools to be a healer.

Why Aerith is the best healer in FF7 Rebirth

To explain further, Aerith is the ideal healer for many reasons. You start the game with all characters at level 15, but by level 23, Aerith has 36 Magic, compared to Red’s 29 Magic. This increases exponentially, giving her better healing capabilities earlier than any other character. Furthermore, this is Aerith’s bare-bones Magic stats, so equipping magic-oriented armor and accessories will further boost this number.

Additionally, Aerith’s ability Radiant Ward creates an area of invincibility for anyone casting spells, as well as increasing magic damage. Radiant Ward is an ability exclusive to Aerith’s weapon, Empress’s Scepter. This is perfect for pulling off a quick heal to allies who are dangerously low.

I would also stray away from using Aerith as your party leader in battle if she’s your healer. While it’s great to be able to build her ATB gauge faster by controlling her, it also draws the aggro of enemies. This can put Aerith in a bind if foes start to close the gap on her, so let her do her thing in the backline.

Finally, Aerith’s first limit break, Healing Wind, provides moderate HP heals for your entire party. So if you find yourself in a pinch, Aerith can put all her talents on display to keep the party alive. All of these abilities, as well as Aerith’s overall healing capabilities, can be increased by spending SP on her Folio.
