Genshin Impact: Hypostatic Symphony event guide

Genshin Impact's Hypostatic Symphony event is now live, and it's quite challenging to boot. Here's our guide to help you out. Genshin Impact: Hypostatic Symphony event guide Genshin Impact's Hypostatic Symphony event introduces Pure Hypostasis bosses for you to fight. You'll be able to choose from several modifiers and difficulty levels, earning you points once you complete the encounter. Anyway, you can refer to the pages below for the mechanics that you need help with: The basics - Hypostatic Symphony event modifiers/variations, solo vs. co-op, and general tips. Rewards and high scores - The stuff you can get after finishing the challenge successfully. Day 1: Violet Lightning Concerto I - Pure Electro Hypostasis Day 2 update: Storm Butterfly Intermezzo I - Pure Anemo Hypostasis Day 3 update: Stone Heart Sonata I - Pure Geo Hypostasis Day 4 update: Violet Lightning Concerto II - Pure Electro Hypostasis Day 7 update: Waltz of Earth, Wind, and Thunder - All three bosses Note 1: Much like challenge #4, the ones for day 5 and day 6 follow a similar pattern. These are still the same bosses with only slight changes to the modifiers. Note 2: Genshin Impact's Hypostatic Symphony event runs from January 16 to January 31. You do need to reach Adventure Rank 20 before you can start it. Hypostatic Symphony event basics, modifiers/variations, and tips Let's discuss the basics of the Hypostatic Symphony event. As mentioned in the main page, you'll need to reach Adventure Rank 20 first. If you meet the requirement, simply open the event panel and teleport to the location. You'll spot a domain marker that'll let you start the fight. Only one boss/challenge, Violet Lightning Concerto I: Pure Electro Hypostasis, is available for now. The rest will be added each day until a week has passed. You'll also notice that each boss/challenge will have several boosted characters (they'll have buffs for that particular encounter only). Next up, you'll see the variations screen. These are the modifiers and difficulty levels that you can select. Difficulty levels: Easy - x1 score multiplier; boss level 20. Normal - x1.5 score multiplier; boss level 40. Hard - x2.5 score multiplier; boss level 60. Expert - x4.5 score multiplier; boss level 80. Modifiers/variations: You can choose from several modifiers (a majority of which will make the encounter tougher). These include the time limit, extra enemy health, enemy elemental resistance, damage, and more. You can mix and match accordingly to find the perfect combination, one that'll give you a high score (based on the difficulty multiplier) while not being too much of a hassle. Moreover, there are some positive modifiers, too. Examples include an increase to your shield strength as well as crit damage and crit rate. Since these provide benefits, these will deduct from your overall score and they're also affected by the multiplier. Note: Since we've just started this Genshin Impact event, I'll mention the boss modifiers separately in their own pages. As of now, I'm unsure if the modifiers will be different for future Hypostasis bosses. Co-op vs. solo and encounter tips Although the Hypostatic Symphony event appears in your world, it's also possible to invite your friends (or randoms) or, conversely, join their worlds. You may also join Genshin Impact's Discord to look for players in your server who are tackling the event. Then again, if you've leveled up your characters and you're confident in your abilities, you can attempt some solo runs. At best, you'll have characters you've geared out completely, and you can perfectly time any elemental combos that are necessary. Don't forget that Genshin Impact's Hypostatic Symphony event acts as a domain encounter, but with a couple of unique twists: The Hypostasis bosses have unique attacks. If you need to practice, you can choose the "Hard" difficulty first before trying out "Expert." Before you start the battle, wait until every character's elemental burst has been fully charged (it'll be done within seconds). You can use multiple food and potion buffs, including those that reduce the damage taken from a particular element. You can equip the NRE Menu gadget to have healing food ready. It's possible to revive dead characters during the fight. If any of your characters die or if the attempt isn't going your way, just leave the domain. Once you go back in, your team will be fully healed. The only minor annoyance is that you'll need to select your modifiers again since there's no retry button. The event is also a good way to keep your party in tip-top condition (in terms of HP and bursts) in case you just want to do other activities in Genshin Impact. Anyway, let's talk about the rewards and high scores. Rewards and high scores It's time to discuss the rewards we can get from Genshin Impact's Hypostatic Symphony event. After beating each boss for the first time, you'll obtain 60 primogems. Likewise, you'll see the score that you've earned depending on the difficulty and modifiers that you selected. What the event tracks, though, is your highest score for that entire challenge. If you got 2,000 points earlier and, in another attempt, you obtained 2,500 points, then that'll be your new record. This also comes into play in succeeding days once new Hypostasis bosses are introduced. Your highest scores from each challenge will simply get added to your total. Meanwhile, any individual score you get that's lower gets disregarded. Here are the total score thresholds and rewards that you can obtain: Total Score Rewards 1,000 2,000 3,000 4,000 5,000 6,000 20,000 mora and 2 rare guide books for each threshold 7,000 8,000 9,000 10,000 11,000 12,000 13,000 20,000 mora and 4x Hero's Wit for each threshold 14,000 20,000 mora, 4x Hero's Wit, and the Celebration: Hypostasis namecard 15,500 17,000 18,500 20,000 20,000 mora and 8x mystic enhancement ore for each threshold Note: Since the goal is to reach a total of 20,000 points, and the event itself has seven challenges, you'll want to get at least 2,858 points from each. Then again, we don't know if the next challenges/bosses have a different scoring system or modifier set, so we'll see if we need to adjust. In any case, let's talk about the first challenge: Violet Lightning Concerto I - Pure Electro Hypostasis. Day 1: Violet Lightning Concerto I - Pure Electro Hypostasis The first challenge in Genshin Impact's Hypostatic Symphony event is the Violet Lightning Concerto I. This boss, known as the Pure Electro Hypostasis, has the following modifiers/variations: Modifier/Variation Points Challenge Timer: 300 seconds 180 seconds 120 seconds 100/150/200 Boss HP increase: 25% 50% 100% 100/150/200 +50% Cryo resistance 40 +50% Physical resistance 40 -25% character ATK when HP is below 50% 40 -50% crit damage for the entire party 50 -80% energy recharge for the entire party 50 Switching characters increases the damage taken by all characters by 25%; stacks up to 4 times 50 +50% boss ATK 60 -20% party movement speed 60 Characters take +75% increased damage for 10 seconds after sprinting 60 +100% elemental skill cooldown 60 +10% crit rate and +20% crit damage for the active character when HP is higher than 90% -50 (deducted from score; also affected by multiplier) +30% shield strength -50 (deducted from score; also affected by multiplier) Encounter tips In the Violet Lightning Concerto I, the Pure Electro Hypostasis is surrounded by several blocks. If these blocks are hit by Electro damage from any source, they'll cast sparks within a circular area-of-effect. These circles will persist throughout the encounter, but they can be cleansed with Cryo or Pyro abilities. Beware of using Pyro in melee, though, because you could get hit by an overload explosion. The Homing Orbs of Death As far as I've noticed, this boss has one tweaked attack. When it turns into a diamond, it'll fire three orbs in a sequence, and these will chase you around the room. If the orbs get near you, your character's HP will get depleted. Moreover, these orbs will also explode, dealing massive damage (if you picked mods that increase the boss' attack or the damage that you take, your characters could be annihilated). There are, however, a few reliable methods to ensure your survival: You can wait for the orbs to get closer, then jump over them. You can move backward so the orb follows you, then dash towards the orb to dodge it completely. A more reliable method, though, is to use Ningguang's or the Geo Traveler's skills. At least one of the orbs would get blocked, allowing any bow user to snipe the center of the diamond for a few seconds. I've heard that taunt skills (i.e., Ganyu's, Mona's, or Amber's) would aggro the orbs, but I've never seen that happen in my experience. Those precious seconds to DPS RNG can and will screw you over at times, so beware of that. Boss attacks, the inherent animations, and accompanying idle status will determine how often you can dish out damage: Rotating beams - Dash towards the boss so you can wail away while it's firing beams. This is an opportune time to nuke the boss' health. Drill - Technically, anytime it does the drill already costs you those precious seconds. Single punch or wall smash - You get a few seconds to do damage. Triple combo (punch, scissors, hammer) - You'll be able to do a lot of damage while the boss is idle. Tetris blocks - You can snipe the boss while dodging all the crap on the ground, but it can be tricky. Diamond and homing orbs - You barely have enough time to attack. If the boss casts this ability often and you selected the low timer penalties, you're screwed. UFC Octagon - The boss very rarely does this ability. But, if it does and you managed to dodge/dash past the first pillar before the cage forms, you've practically won. The casting time takes a long while, allowing you to deal a ton of damage. However, if you get stuck inside the cage, you're done for and you might as well restart (unless Venti, Albedo, or Zhongli help you escape quickly). Boosted characters and my team's composition The following characters deal +20% increased damage: Ganyu, Xiangling, Diluc, and Chongyun. I actually had three of them (only Chongyun wasn't included). Instead, I replaced him with Qiqi for emergency healing. I had Ganyu active most of the time since her charged shots provide a lot of DPS. The arrows also nullify the effects of the spark circles on the ground. Xiangling was there just to drop Guoba from time to time. I did have Diluc, though I also tested out Albedo (just so his shields could soak some hits). Qiqi was my emergency healer since I've yet to level Bennett. Final Stand Once the boss' health is down to a sliver, it'll switch to its final stand. The main difference here is that there are clusters of regeneration crystals. There are two sets of smaller crystals and there's also a larger chunk. This is where things can get hectic especially if your cooldowns aren't ready. That's why I had Xiangling. She can drop Guoba next to one cluster before going to another set and popping her ult. Then, I'll switch to either Diluc or Ganyu to destroy the rest.
