Honkai: Star Rail – Best Topaz and Numby team comps

The cutest pair.

Topaz and Numby is a 5-star character, or should I say, 5-star characters. For the first time, we’re getting two different characters in one playable body. We have Topaz, the Leader of the Special Debts Picket Team and manager of the Strategic Investment Department, and Numby, her pet. Numby joins Topaz as her pet Trotter, and is the cutest thing in the game, as Numby will follow Topaz on her adventures. Topaz and Numby can be joined by a squad of three other characters, however, and you’ll want to pair the two up with the best teammates possible. Here’s our guide on the best team comps for Topaz and Numby in Honkai: Star Rail.

Topaz and Numby are Fire Hunt characters, joining the likes of Seele and Yanqing as 5-star Hunt characters. Hunt characters are known for their high single-target damage, but Topaz and Numby have some tricks up their sleeves. Topaz and Numby can actually increase the damage of follow-up attacks using her Skill, allowing her to work as a sub-DPS character or as a main DPS herself. Here are some characters that can work with Topaz and Numby:

  • Clara and March 7th: This follow-up team has terrific value, along with a couple of benefits. Clara is a strong DPS character that initiates a follow-up attack whenever she’s hit, allowing her to generate skill points since her main source of damage doesn’t require her to use her skill. March 7th also initiates follow-up attacks after an enemy strikes her shield, which she uses on Clara to aggro enemies toward her. Overall, this core should be a fun team that amplifies the follow-up damage of these characters.
  • Himeko: Himeko also dishes out tons of damage with her follow-up attacks, allowing Topaz and Numby to amplify her damage. Himeko hasn’t had too much relevance as her follow-up attacks were relatively niche, but Topaz and Numby will allow her to deal the damage she needs to succeed.
  • Luocha: If March 7th is not enough as a sustain unit, you should use Luocha as a healer as he can generate Skill Points for Topaz and Numby, allowing the pair to use her Skill more often.
  • Any follow-up character: Topaz and Numby form a formidable unit, so you can feasibly pair her with any characters with frequent follow-up attacks.

Here are some team comp examples:

  • Topaz and Numby / Clara / March 7th / Himeko
  • Topaz and Numby / Himeko / Asta / Luocha or Fu Xuan
  • Topaz and Numby / Jing Yuan / Tingyun / Fu Xuan
  • Topaz and Numby / Himeko / Herta / Luocha or Fu Xuan
