Honkai Star Rail Simulated Universe World 9 guide and best teams

A new Simulated Universe world has been added to Honkai Star Rail with the launch of Version 2.1, and there are new Planar Ornament sets to collect. World 9 of the Simulated Universe is just more of the same, but the new Planar Ornaments are really good for certain characters like Acheron.

How to Beat Simulated Universe World 9 in Honkai Star Rail

World 9 of the Simulated Universe is immediately unlocked after completing World 8 (surprising, I know). As per usual, there are multiple difficulty levels with different rewards for first-time clears. The easiest difficulty level for World 9 starts at level 61, so you’ll need a decent team to tackle it.

World 9 pits you against Penacony’s fiercest foes and some familiar faces like the Malefic Ape, but the real test of strength is the Memory Zone Meme “Something Unto Death” boss battle waiting for you at the final stage. As such, you should build your team with this boss fight in mind, bringing characters with DoT abilities to destroy Sombrous Sepulchers and revive fallen allies before it’s too late.

Best Team and Path for Simulated Universe World 9

Because the final boss of World 9 has such a DoT-centric mechanic, the best team is going to be comprised of Nihility units. You should take the Nihility Path as well and stack as many Blessings of Nihility as you can in order to maximize DoT damage and defeat enemies as quickly as possible.

Nihility Teams for Simulated Universe World 9

The best Nihility team for Simulated Universe World 9 is:

  • Acheron
  • Kafka
  • Black Swan
  • Luocha

This Nihility team will feed Acheron’s Ultimate charge with Kafka‘s Lighting DoT attacks and Black Swan’s Arcana stacks while Luocha keeps everyone healed. They also match up with the enemies’ elemental weaknesses for this world, which is a huge plus.

If you need a F2P Nihility team for Simulated Universe World 9, bring these characters:

  • Gallagher
  • Sampo
  • Guinaifen
  • Yukong

Sampo and Guinaifen are two of the best 4-Star Nihility options in the game, and Gallagher can also apply debuffs while keeping everyone healed. Yukong’s support helps too, but she’s there to counter the Imaginary weaknesses in some fights. You can swap her out with Dr. Ratio for a much stronger Imaginary option if you claimed him when he was given out for free.

Destruction Teams for Simulated Universe World 9

Of course, not everyone likes the DoT-focused Nihility playstyle, so thankfully, the Path of Destruction is another safe bet for Simulated Universe World 9. If you stack Blessings of Destruction, you should be able to quickly defeat even the toughest bosses. The AOE abilities of some Destruction characters will help you contend with the Sombrous Sepulchers summoned by the Memory Zone Meme, too.

This is the best Destruction team for World 9 of the Simulated Universe:

  • Blade
  • Gallagher
  • Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae
  • Bronya

In this team composition, Blade and Imbibitor Lunae will deal most of the damage. Bronya will make their damage numbers even higher, and Gallagher will keep everyone alive while also helping out with some minor debuffs. This team can be used for just about anything in Honkai Star Rail, so it’s no wonder that it works for the Simulated Universe as well.

If you need a F2P Destruction team, then try this lineup:

  • Gallagher
  • Hook
  • Dan Heng
  • Yukong

While not all of these characters are technically on the Path of Destruction, they’ll still benefit greatly from its Blessings in the Simulated Universe. As always, Gallagher is the best 4-Star support choice for World 9, and Yukong fills an important role by countering Imaginary weaknesses while also buffing allies. Dan Heng is also a strong F2P Wind unit, which is a necessity for the gauntlet of enemies that lie ahead. Hook is also capable of an explosive amount of damage if you build her right.
