How to get to Muxxalon HQ in High on Knife

It's a long trek, but it's worth it.

High on Knife is the incredible DLC to High on Life. This smaller adventure takes place two years after you took down the G3, and it’ll see you taking on a high-stakes mission: tracking down Knifey’s package. You’ll have to make your way to Muxxalon HQ on Peroxis, which is a far trek from your entry point: Salt Lick City. There’s a big adventure ahead of you, so try to keep up. Here’s how to get to Muxxalon HQ in High on Knife.

Arriving in Salt Lick City

Upon leaving the portal, you’ll see Muxxalon HQ in the far distance. Why didn’t it take you straight there? Well, then you wouldn’t be able to see Salt Lick City, of course!

Ahead of you will be a blue slug that’ll want to talk. Speaking to him will reveal your destination: the giant ship on the horizon. He also mentions that only the native species of Duffalo get through, so your chances of infiltrating the HQ will be from the Duffalo Ranch, just up ahead from Salt Lick City. Let’s move!

In front of the city will be some enemies to dispatch, but I’m sure you’ve got it covered. Enter the City of Dreams, if your dreams include giant salt-loving slugs that are slowly dying out and somehow managed to thrive there in the first place. You can largely ignore the city for now and press on to the marker, where you’ll meet a Slug that will offer you a brand-new weapon: B.A.L.L.

B.A.L.L. is an incredible pinball weapon that you’ll get to test out there at the range. If you want to try for the high score, feel free. Once you’re done, it’ll be time to carry on to the Gastripelago.

Just ahead of Salt Lick City lies the Gastripelago, and you’ll be following the marker through the many environmental obstacles. The first one you’ll see is a purple spire. Get close enough to it for the game to prompt you with a key or button to hit. Once you’ve done that, Knifey will act as a sort of grapple hook, and you can climb down the spire to the top, where you can jet pack to the other side of the spire onto solid ground.

Here, you’ll need to use B.A.L.L. to plug up the holes in the ground, like you did in the shooting range. By plugging them all, the geysers will shoot up with the built pressure, and you can jet pack into them to get launched sky-high. Cross the lake using the geysers and you’ll have another structure to climb up using Knifey. At a couple of points in this path, enemies will spawn to try and take you out. You can fight them, if you wish, or you can just powerslide past them. There is no benefit to killing them, so you may as well just keep going.

Once you’re atop the structure, you’ll be able to see a giant green guy in the distance. His name is Toxxo, and he’ll be more than happy to help you.

Meeting Toxxo

Once you’ve walked up to Toxxo, he’ll happily throw you to Muxxalon HQ, but only if you give him a helping hand first. A seemingly calm and collected giant, he will demand that you shake off your “uptight” mood and take a soak in the pool. The highly toxic pool. You’ll need to chill in the pool for a while to appease him, but you’ll need to stay for longer than your health will allow.

To survive in the toxic pool, you’ll need to spot the yellow-and-black parasites on his legs and belly. If you shoot them, they’ll drop armor boosts, which will allow you to survive a lot longer. Pop a few of them while in the pool and you’ll have made him happy. And don’t leave the pool at all, or Toxxo will get upset and you’ll have to stay longer. As soon as the relax-o-meter is full, he’ll be pleased.

Once he’s happy, he’ll ask you to hop on the island and he’ll help you out. That is, however, only after you do him one favor, which is to clear some more of those parasites off of his back. You’ll need to skirt around the pool and climb up the rock to reach his back, but it’s a really simple procedure. Finally, you can hop back to the island, only for him to ask you to clean his butt.

Heading through the cave as instructed, you will come across… a door. Head through it, and you’ll be met with Cheeks. I’ll let you discover that one for yourself.

You’ll see Toxxo’s cheeks on the far walls, where you can shoot off the few parasites clinging on for dear life. Shoot them down.

You can either hang around for the whole show, or you can leave immediately. Toxxo will react differently to what you do, but both paths have the exact same result, Toxxo throwing you over to the Duffalo Ranch. Either out of rage or from the kindness of his heart.

Helping out the ranch

At the ranch, you’ll need to walk past the… Duffalo… and talk to the rancher, as the objective marker suggests. Please don’t stare at the animals. It’s rude.

The rancher will mistake you for a poacher, and nothing you can say will convince him otherwise. To gain his trust, as Knifey puts together, you’ll need to kill all of the poachers and take down the poacher king.

This part is a whole other tangent, so I’ll just say this: go to the poacher’s base, defeat all of the enemies at every junction, and progress up the building. Your suit and the game will prompt you at every junction of what to do. Simply eliminate all enemies, and the poacher king’s office will open up. Walk over, letting your objective marker guide you, and you’ll see the poacher king!

Which turns out to be a young human boy. Convince him to not poach the Duffalo anymore, and he’ll hand you some poppers in good faith.

Take the poppers over to the ranch, and talk to the rancher. He’ll be very impressed by your “betrayal of your poacher friends,” and will begrudgingly stand by as you use your poppers on Elizabeth the Duffalo to catch a ride. I’ll let you see how that pans out.

Catching a ride…

Your final step is here! When you’re in Elizabeth, your ride will be interrupted by a parasite. You can say what you want here, I personally chose to let Creature do his thing. It was hilarious, so I’d personally recommend that dialogue path, but you can do whatever you want, I guess.

After the ride, you’ll arrive at Muxxalon HQ! Well done!

I hope you enjoyed our guide on reaching Muxxalon HQ in High on Knife. I also wish you luck in tracking down your package. For even more High on Knife help, PC Invasion has got you covered.
