How long to beat Final Fantasy 16

At the time of writing this, there’s no definitive answer as to how long Final Fantasy 16 will be. Despite this, we have some clues if you’re wondering how much this game will take over your life. Final Fantasy 16 is a game with main and side quests, meaning mainlining the game will take a lot less time than doing everything.

According to an interview for Everyeye with the game’s director Hiroshi Takai, Final Fantasy 16 should take around 35-40 hours to beat. Of course, if you plan to do everything that the game has to offer, this number can skyrocket to 70 hours. Valisthea is shaping up to be a large world with plenty of regions to explore, giving you many opportunities to fall off the main path.

Past Final Fantasy titles have also been just as long, so it’s no surprise that this latest one is going to take awhile to finish. Also, if you’re someone who likes to do main and side quests, but isn’t a hardcore completionist, it probably won’t take the whole 70 hours. It seems from the interview that those 70 hours means completing the game 100%, for people who like receive Platinum trophies.

Basically, don’t be too frightened by that 70 hour mark if you still want to do some side quests alongside the main story. That may just end up taking you around 50 hours to complete if you do some side stuff along the way.

Final Fantasy 16 is available to pre-order as a PlayStation 5 exclusive.
