How to complete Golden Swag task in Escape From Tarkov Patch 13.5

All this for a lighter?!

Tasks are vital in Escape From Tarkov for leveling up your PMC and Trader levels. If you’re a new player, one thing you’ll quickly realize is how obtuse some tasks are, even the early ones. Golden Swag is one of those and asks players to visit one of the hottest PVP areas in the entire game, Dorms. Not only that, you need to secure an item and take it to another high-traffic area on the Customs map. In short, Golden Swag is brutal, but it becomes much easier if you know what you’re doing. Let me show you how to complete the Golden Swag task in Escape From Tarkov Patch 13.5.

Dorms is a nasty area for a PVP novice. You can soften the blow somewhat with a decent weapon. Check out our guide for budget options you can use right from the start.

Golden Swag is a two-part quest, and dying anytime during the task means you must start again from scratch. Upon accepting Golden Swag, you’re given the ‘Trailer park portable cabin key,’ bring it with you in your Secure Container.

Another prerequisite for Golden Swag is the ‘Dorm room 303 key.’ You have to acquire this item yourself. Keys like this are a random drop typically found in filing draws, jackets, and on dead Scavs. If you reach Level 15 before completing Golden Swag, you can buy the appropriate key at the Flea Market. Like the cabin key, I recommend keeping the room key in your Secure Container.

Enter 3 Story Dorms

Once you have both keys, enter Customs as your PMC and travel to Dorms. As previously mentioned, Dorms is usually very busy. The buildings are popular for PvP, and many quests involve visiting the location. If you’re alone or know you will probably lose a gunfight, wait for 10-20 mins at the start of the Raid before making a move. Another alternative is to queue for a night raid, as these are typically quieter, but visibility is much poorer.

You can find room 303 on the 3rd floor in the taller of the 2 Dorms buildings. Use the key on the door, head inside, and grab the Golden Zibbo Lighter off the table.

Cross the bridge toward Big Red

Once you’ve got the Lighter, exit Dorms and head toward the river. You can cross any way you like. The low ground is more hidden, but if anyone is on the bridge and they open fire, you’re almost guaranteed to lose the engagement.

The large warehouse is known as ‘Big Red.’ From the bridge, turn left and walk straight past Big Red’s entrance and toward the Trailer Park. You can open the cabin (pictured above) with the ‘Trailer park portable cabin key.’ Finally, step inside the cabin and hide the Lighter inside. You must hold the ‘Use’ key (F by default) for 30 seconds to do this. You’re vulnerable the entire time, so listen for footsteps and be ready to shoot if you hear any.

At this point, even if you die in Raid, you’ve completed the Golden Swag task and opened the start of the ‘Chemical’ quest line from Skier.
