To customize your dragon in WoW Dragonflight, you need to visit a Rostrum of Transformation. Right-clicking a rostrum will open a menu similar to a Barber Shop and the character creation screen. Here, you can personalize any of your Dragonriding mounts to your heart’s content with the appearances you’ve unlocked or purchased.

In addition, you can also preview appearances you’ve yet to unlock on this screen by hovering over them. Once you’ve selected your favorite colors, features, and decorations, clicking Accept will change your dragon’s appearance the next time you summon it.

How to Unlock New Dragon Customization Options in WoW Dragonflight

You’ve likely already picked up Drakewatcher Manuscript during your adventures in the Dragon Isles, whether through a quest or from the corpse of a rare mob. By using these, you can permanently unlock new ways to customize your dragon — and yes, they’re account wide!

Drakewatcher Manuscripts can be obtained through various sources, with most major options (such as colors and armor) being purchasable from faction vendors once reaching a certain level of Renown. Each customization option is unique to its specific dragon species, however.

Other Drakewatcher Manuscript sources include:

  • Professions
  • Dungeon and Raid drops
  • Achievements
  • Rare Elite and world drops
  • Quest rewards
  • Dragonrider Racing World Quests
  • World Events

Epic-quality Drakewatcher Manuscripts are known as Full Transformations. As the name suggests, these completely transform your dragon with a unique appearance, and its features can’t be individually customized. An example is the Renewed Proto-Drake’s  Storm-Eater transformation, which has a low chance of dropping from the raid boss Raszageth.

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight is available through the Battle.net launcher.
