Redfall Rooks Stake Launcher

How to defeat Rooks in Redfall

Don't blunder your fight with the Rook.

Redfall’s open world has a number of different challenges within it. You can take your time finding a way to clear the red smoke from all across the map, or simply plan a route to get across a now-empty river. One of the challenges you’ll be facing during your time in Redfall is Rook Storms. You can activate Rook Storms by doing certain events in the overworld that fill a bar. These can be killing special vampires, or completing side missions, many things can contribute to this factor. Once you fill that meter, a Rook Storm will begin, and within that storm, there’s a new enemy approaching. Here’s our guide on how to defeat Rooks in Redfall.

How to defeat Rooks in Redfall

Rooks can really be a thorn in your side in Redfall, but hopefully with a trick or two you should be able to defeat them easier. Rooks will charge at you quickly, and swing at you for massive damage. Therefore, the first tip is to simply keep your distance as best as you can, or more likely with how fast he charges at you, use the environment to your advantage.

You’re going to want to be looking around for ways you can dodge the Rook to help you defeat it in Redfall. If you’re near an enterable building, you can use that to your advantage and take cover in there while the Rook tries to charge at you. If you’re confident, you can even use this interior environment to lead the Rook around and make sure he stands no chance of hitting you by leading him inside while you run outside, then back inside, and so forth. You can also use environmental hazards like red barrels to do some good damage to the Rook.

Weapon choice

The biggest trick that you can know for learning to defeat Rooks in Redfall, however, lies in a weapon choice. The weapons of Redfall are all pretty good against the Rook, but the Stake Launcher is by far the best weapon to use. If you have a level-adequate Stake Launcher, the Rook can go down in only a few hits. For myself, he went down in a handful of shots, and I couldn’t even hit all of them, so you can maybe do it quicker if you have better aim and can get consistent critical hits. If you need a guide on how to get yourself a Stake Launcher, we gave you covered.

Hopefully, with these tips, you can take down the Rook quickly.
