How to fix connection timed out error in Palworld

How about connection timed in!

It’s going to be hard to get into and play Palworld if you hit a “connection timed out” error upon booting up. To help fix this issue, here’s a helpful Palworld guide.

Palworld: How to fix connection timed out bug

If you are struggling to download or get into Palworld because you keep getting a connection timed out bug, you’re in the right place. I have a few tips that you can try to get rid of the bug and get into the game.

Restart the game

The first thing you need to try is restarting the game. Close out of it completely and try relaunching it. Oftentimes with tech, all you need to do is try again and the error fixes itself.

Power cycle your system

If restarting the game doesn’t yield results, then you need to power cycle your device. Most people suggest turning off your device and turning it back on again. This is good and might do the trick, but you can take it a step further by power cycling it.

To do this, completely shut down your device. Once it’s been off for 15 seconds, unplug the power cable from the outlet. Wait 15 seconds and then plug it back in. Boot up your device normally and then try to launch Palworld again. The “have you tried turning it off and on” trick is a cliché for a reason — because it usually works.

Check your internet

Next, you need to check your internet. You can play Palworld offline, but you need a solid internet connection to get into the game.

Check your internet by ensuring the platform you’re playing Palworld on has a secure connection. I always recommend running an ethernet to your device to double-check that it is getting the best internet connection it can. Make sure your internet and router are working correctly, too.

Delete and redownload Palworld

If none of the above fixes have worked, you can try deleting and redownloading Palworld. Your files could somehow be corrupt and redownloading the game can fix this issue. This is an unfortunate fix because it takes more time, but if the solution works, then it’s worth the time spent trying.

Wait for Palworld servers to stabilize

The last thing you can do is wait for Pocketpair to stabilize the Palworld servers. You may be getting a connection timed out error if the servers are spotty. I recommend following Palworld on Twitter (or X) to stay up to date on Palworld’s server status.

At the time of writing this, they posted that the servers are currently unstable and could cause issues. Once you finally do get into Palworld, you’ll immediately want to know how to start a dedicated server to play co-op with your friends.
