You can buy an Extension Ladder with just 60 credits in the game. Just like the other items, you can buy the Extension Ladder from the store using your ship’s Terminal computer. Here are all the steps you need to follow to get yourself an extension ladder:

  1. Stand before the Terminal Console and press “E” to access the console.
  2. Type “Store” to visit the store and view the items available for grabs.
  3. Type “Extension Ladder” to purchase the item.
  4. If you want to buy multiple Extension Ladders at once, add x(Number of ladders you want)” after your item name. For example: “Extension Ladder x 2”
  5. You will be asked to confirm your order. Type “Confirm” in the console and press enter.

This will complete the order process for your Extension Ladder. You must now wait for the supply drop to deliver your ordered item. Once you have landed on the moon, leave your ship and wait for some time for a drop-ship to land near you. After the drop-ship has successfully landed on your moon, go near it and interact to open the doors.

After the door opens, the ship will drop all the items it brought to the ground. Now, pick up the Extension Ladder from the ground and you are good to go. However, if you are having trouble finding the ship, you can identify its position by carefully listening to a piece of music playing nearby. Keep following the direction from which the sound is coming, and it will lead you to the drop-ship.

How to use the Extension Ladder in Lethal Company

Extension Ladder can come in handy in different situations throughout your adventure to collect scraps in the moons filled with monsters. The two primary uses of the Extension Ladder are to climb heights and cross gaps easily.

To use the Extension Ladder, equip it in your hand and then stand in front of the wall or gap you want to climb or cross. Press your Left Mouse Button (LMB) from that position to place the Extension Ladder box on the ground. Once placed, the ladder will come out of the box and start going up. After it has reached its maximum height, it will start falling forward and hit any surface in front of it.

If you want to climb an unreachable place, position the ladder against the wall. If you want to cross a gap that requires a very tough jump, open the ladder and wait until it reaches the other side of the gap. Proceed to cross the gap. You can also use the ladder inside the facility to reach hard-to-reach areas.

Be alert, because the ladder has a timer, after which it retracts back into the box. The ladder will only stay open for 18 seconds. After the 13th second, an alarm will go off, reminding you that the timer is about to end.

If you do not want to get killed while crossing a gap, be fast and get to the surface before the ladder timer runs out. We recommend you keep a teammate nearby if you’re going to a tough location. If any situation arises, your crewmate can use the ladder again, and create a path for you to return safely.

One of the funniest things about the Extension Ladder is that it can kill people when it falls. While the ladder is going up, make sure that no one is standing beneath it. Because if it falls over you or any of your team members, it’s guaranteed death. So be safe; don’t be the person on an alien planet surrounded by monsters who gets killed by a ladder.
