How to get back to the Great Sky Island in Tears of the Kingdom

Going back to the tutorial area.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom starts off strong, boasting a massive tutorial that allows you to explore a big area, complete shrines, find cool secrets, and have a bunch of fun along the way. It’s a lot like Breath of the Wild in this regard, where that game starts you on the Great Plateau and has you chasing down a few shrines before continuing into the world of Hyrule. Tears of the Kingdom offers up the Great Sky Island, and it’s just as packed with things to do. One question remains though, after the tutorial, how do you get back to the Great Sky Island? Here’s our guide on how to get back to the Great Sky Island in Tears of the Kingdom.

How to get back to the Great Sky Island in Tears of the Kingdom

Getting back to the Great Sky Island is extremely easy to do. You actually have two options to get there, one being much quicker than the other. The first option is to just find your way back up there, whether that’s through using the Skyview Towers, or flying yourself back up there with a vehicle of your own creation. This method can be a bit of a pain, however, as it takes a lot of effort. Luckily there’s a much easier option on how to return to the Great Sky Island.

By far the quickest way to return to the Great Sky Island is to fast travel to one of the shrines you activate while doing the tutorial. This can be any of the four you do as they’re all on the Great Sky Island. You can even fast travel to the Room of Awakening where you begin your journey.

To do this, you need to open up the map menu with the ‘-’ button, then use the up button on the d-pad to select the sky map, then select a shrine from the Great Sky Island to teleport to. This method is immensely quicker than the other option listed here, and it’s the one we recommend.
